I built a pool a few years ago, and all I can think of when I see this is who is the poor SOB who's going to have to brush all that cement once you put the water in? What's the total gallon capacity of this thing? Going salt water? Holy cow!!

He could just hire the Fuller Brush guy who recently went out of business since no one answers there door bells anymore.
Probably about 50k gallons.
Not sure if going salt or not yet.

All I can think of is a release from liability agreement included with any pool party invites, but it is looking cool as shi*! Where are some pics of those crystals you were trying to grow?
Yep, will have to have a waiver.
Crystals go in last.

Very good. I'll sleep better tonight
Is this why Star Wars Land construction at Disney is taking so long...you've stolen all of their Imagineers?
Looking good. I wonder is the shotcrete hard to work with? Pretty costly i bet to your pool start to finish , north of 50k?

Youre way low...
Quoted from cosmokramer:Youre way low...
I kinda figured, especially being in Califonia.

I remember a former neighbor of mine had told me that they had 250K worth of rock work done for their pool. They said the guy doing it had worked for Disney on their rock work and had hidden stuff in the work (hidden Mickey’s). Unfortunately this was at their former house that they sold before becoming my neighbor. I only saw pictures of the pool and it wowed me...but 250K...Wow.
We have a place out here in Peoria, AZ called Volcano Oasis that does events and has a volcano in the pool, reminds me of this thread. http://www.volcanooasis.com also on Facebook as well. Some of my friends have been to this place but I have not made it.
Quoted from PACMAN:Getting ready to paint. Same stuff they use at Disneyland.
It's a small world after all
Quoted from PACMAN:rocks are 99% done
Just incredible, compliments to your designer
And your painter!
Thanks! So ready to get to the bridge next. Trying to find a good source for the ropes.

Have you tried Oceanic Arts?
Nope, I’ll check them out. Thanks for the lead!

This is awesome. I would never go inside... Well if the beer was outside too...i assume there's a bar, and a grill.
No coating - just really, really polished.
Quoted from gliebig:What kind of coating do you put on the slide to make it slippery?
Definitely! Let me finish it first though
The arcade is almost up and running too.
Quoted from Wolfmarsh:Party at PACMAN's house!
There’s a bbq island and I’m working on a “bar” area. Although I don’t drink.

Quoted from regulardaddy:And where are the hookers?
Wow, that’s a chunk of change. I’d love to see what he came up with.

Uhhhh, no such thing. Have Earthquake insurance though.
Quoted from spfxted:Did you make this sort of earthquake proof?
Yes.

It’s not too hard to work with, just need to work fast.
It will set me back a bit. Not sure I want to disclose it just yet.

This beats the Lou Ferigno thread any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
You sir, have built an oasis.
Quoted from radium:This pool will be too nice to pee in.
No such thing. I’ll bring the Baby Ruth.
Ha ha! Thanks! I am pretty much in the middle of a desert.

Too bad I did not post earlier maybe more ideas but got to this thread late

No one needs to know the cost unless you decide to tell. I could make a pretty good guess based on the cost of my pool at $50k 10 years ago and how many orders of magnitude yours is above that and considering today's costs! But regardless of cost, that pool is BEAUTIFUL! Top WDW hotels that I have visited don't have anything to compete with you!
Suffice it to say I am so sad that I do not live near you so we could be friends and you could invite me over!
Rather than the cost of something extravagant, what always intrigues me more is what the owner happens to do for a living. I find that much more of interest than cost. I tend to pass on examples like this to my kids as life lessons when choosing careers. So are you able to say? Doctor, lawyer, Indian Chief, trust fund recipient?? Or somebody in a trade who just worked his butt off, saved, and likes to enjoy what he has accomplished?
I once met an older guy who had dozens of classic muscle cars, lived in a large beautiful home, and would think nothing of dropping $8-10k on games at the drop of a hat. I could never get a straight answer out of him as to what he did for a living when he worked. He would tell me at various times that he was a Federal Judge, he won the lottery, etc. He always enjoyed the question. It was not until he sadly passed away that I discovered he had a business that remediated wet basements. Who woulda thunk it??!??

Yikes!!
Quoted from chad:Yikes!!
Yeah this sums up my thoughts that I kept to myself when they told me about it too. Who knows though sometimes people stretch the truth. ?I saw pictures of it only through the local real estate magazine when they sold their house only...although nice I can’t imagine paying that much for the Rock work...I’ll have to see if I can find the magazine I kept and post the ad.
Quoted from Pinballlew:although nice I can’t imagine paying that much for the Rick work
Depends. Maybe Rick does really nice Rock work ?
LTG : )
