I just noticed that the dollar stores near me are now fully stocked again with pool noodles.

I bought some last year that I used when I moved, and they have been quite useful for protecting/storing playfields, as packing materials for odd-shaped items, and for padding when transporting pins (the pins were wrapped in plastic first).

I highly recommend them if you're not using them already

So, I've been using pool noodles all summer on playfields and for padding when folding backboxes down, but I've finally run out of them. Since summer has just about ended, the dollar store I've been getting them from no longer has them, and won't have them until next year.

Does anyone know of a cheap and/or bulk source for pool noodles that doesn't cost $4 per noodle?

Quoted from beelzeboob:

I've been doing what John's doing, using pipe insulation. Same idea, but in grey or black. I learned it from Pinsider Norm when I bought his Congo. Who knew? But pool noodles are cheaper, I think, and better colors. No idea who sells them in September, though! Ya' gotta stock up in May!

I bought 30 of them at the start of the summer and thought that would be more than enough to last me through the year. Guess not

Pipe insulation is more than double the cost of a pool noodle

Quoted from Law:

Find your local Amtgard, NERO, or similar group and ask around. They'll have noodles aplenty and probably a good source for them.

It doesn't look like there'a anything like that in my area.

Yeah, I saw the map on their site. I'm stuck in the middle of an area without any of these groups nearby.
