Quoted from fooflighter:Is this your new SE ? That pin is brand new?!? That's disconcerting to say the least
So is that the post right under the left backstage post? No washer there correct?
How do your sling posts look, although I don't know if i'd want to look
You are correct, post under left backstage. In this case it looks like they torqued down the post when the clear wasnt even remotely ready. I will try and get some better pics, but you can see the clear coat moving in a clockwise direction from where they torqued down that post. It does have a metal washer.
Several other posts have minor pooling. My game came with the black plastic washers under the slings, and upon looking there is indeed minor pooling, or rather at least indentation from the plastic washers themselves.
I am the type of guy who doesnt bitch, to a fault, but I will be contacting my distributor on this to at least get it on record. The last thing I want to do is wait and see if it gets worse, only to be told it isnt covered under warranty or something.
The playfield overall is absolutely gorgeous, but I feel as if I am paying the price in other areas for that thick shiny clearcoat. Pardon me if im butchering some of the terminology, but I can certainly tell you something isnt right with things. No way is this issue isolated to me and a handful of others.
I truly feel JJP worked their asses off on this product, but the fact that its 2020 and we cant figure out a way to efficiently apply a clear-coat process is very concerning. I will keep you posted on what they say.
Quoted from BallPin:I wouldn't worry too much. It's still the same 3 playfields I keep seeing over and over.
I know part of trolling is not letting people know you are trolling, but I will assume you are trolling
Quoted from nicoy3k:Way more? Really? Agree that jandreas is new, though I am still interested in the details of his case since I have an se coming tomorrow. To me it looks like there is damage to the hole almost like the post was loose and hitting the side.
The post was in no way loose. Mine looks torqued too tight. Yours should look beautiful out of the box, but keep a close eye on things. My pooling started showing after 30 plays or so.
Quoted from nicoy3k:Could you share a photo of the minor pooling ? Has that been there from day 1? Some of the other photos from that LE look less like pooling and more like the clear just lifting around the post. Especially since apparently on the LE the pooling wasn’t there at first? That seems bizarre to me.
Yes sir, ill get some better pics with better lighting tonight. Game was pristine upon shipment, but I do suspect the indentation was there from the beginning under the black plastic sling washers.
Edit - I noticed you asked why I removed the post. I noticed something creeping out, figured it was pooling but didnt realize actual damage existed. I removed the post to add a nylon protector in an attempt to slow damage. The damage was already there.
Quoted from Guinnesstime:This makes a helluva assumption on the QC issues being the "fault" of the manufacturer. Many manufacturers allow you to order based on certain manufacturing tolerances. The more you pay them, the tighter the tolerance. You don't know what was ordered and those terms.
I would hope it would be in the tolerance of not having issues within the first week of ownership.
Quoted from Coolpinballdino:Edit noticed this post this morning with some issues under the rose plastic on the upper left area.

This is the first area that alerted me personally to an issue as well. Pooling in my case, but it was cause for me to further inspect all else.
Quoted from Palmer:My SE is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. Will take some pics when I get it.
FWIW, I spoke with my distro and we got to talking about pooling/lifting issues with JJP and Stern games. He told me that he spoke to JJP back when several Wonkas had the issue. He said that JJP was getting tons of claims for replacement playfields but the majority (like 75%) were from people that were submitting the same exact photo. Go figure, there are scumbags out there just looking for a free playfield.
Moral of the story... if you don't have damage, don't be a scumbag and try to score a free playfield by faking damage. It hurts the people that actually need JJP support.
It takes a next level asshole to do something like that. Shameful, and I agree 100 percent. Guess I need to submit my claim quick before someone uses my pics, haha.
I have an open ticket for my issues still. Hopefully they come up with an acceptable solution, whatever that may be.
Bad ass game though. Cant get enough
Quoted from Skyemont:Stern just announced they have merged with Zizzle which explains a lot. He is just a baby in the corner. Plus he is pissed GNR destroyed LZ. He’s embarrassed.
I absolutely LOVE my stern games (Elvira and Jurassic Park).
Watching the gameplay of LZ though.... yikes. When you crank out as many games as stern does they aren’t all going to be home runs, or even bunts in the case of LZ.
I guess I’ll never understand the blind allegiance to either company.
Quoted from Skyemont:I have owned over 15 Stern pinballs so they have gotten my $. I’m just sick of the fanboys running their mouth. If everyone would shut up about who makes a better pinball, the fighting and bickering would stop or come close.
very fair point. call out bullshit when you see it, and praise the good stuff. both of these companies keep it entertaining, in a good way.
Quoted from Tdavis7965:Just checking in.... Anyone with earlier playfield/pooling issues have any success with JJP offering a solution? Filed a claim in October shortly after receiving my SE, some back and forth emails, but no resolution to date. Patiently waiting
No resolution, but after weeks of waiting they did finally reach out to ask me for the build date of my playfield, so it seems they are trying to come up with some sort of resolution.
Quoted from nicoy3k:Do you have chipping or just pooling?
Both, the spot I have chipping I believe was caused by someone tightening something down too much. You can see the clear going in a clockwise pattern where the chip is. So probably over tightening on a playfield not fully cured.
I am clueless on clear coat application, so this is just an assumption on my part.
Quoted from Tdavis7965:Thanks! I have mostly been in contact with Barry. My machine is October build date, but playfield number is 1622... Not sure what that equates to?
You bet, was your playfield October or machine? My machine was October, but playfield was July. You can find playfield date if you lift the playfield, and look on the back side (right).
Quoted from Tdavis7965:Wow, that one is harder to see Looks like 26. Juni 2020?[quoted image]
Mine was super hard to read, but yeah thats it. Ours must have been in the same early batch.
Quoted from PtownPin:Really? I thought I read JJP was willing to buy back games? Maybe that was just a rumor?
They offered a buyback and never called. At least they never called me. First communication was in November. Outside of buyback they offered washers and "maybe even a free t-shirt".
