Quoted from jandrea95:

They offered a buyback and never called. At least they never called me. First communication was in November. Outside of buyback they offered washers and "maybe even a free t-shirt".

Hey, I'd take that free t-shirt.

This is the first time I've seen this poll and can't believe that out of 155 reported playfields, 82 have these problems?!? I am taking the iron/washer approach to the affected areas but now wondering what happens if and when the damage grows beyond the 3/4 in washer. Were the POTC and WW situations exactly like this and if so, did the larger washers prevent further damage? I love this machine and am hoping to play it for years to come, so hoping to find a long term fix.

Quoted from Jaybird815:

From what I’ve heard they said they will, but when someone tries to take them up on it, just crickets. I’d like to hear if someone has had their game bought back.
Edit: Bobby Hill beat me by 15 seconds

Thats exactly what I would do if I were in that situation....take it back and replace or give me all my money back, and I'll just buy one on the secondary market.

So I assume u reported the problem to JJP, and they said what? Although I don't have this problem yet its nice to know how JJP handles these situations

Holy crap. You are so right. It was situated under the ramp so acces wasn't to easy. After your post i got a magnetic pen and sure enough it sticks. However the pooling issues on the post is not so easily fixed i am afraid.
Thanks for making my weekend a bit better.

Sure thing, glad I could help.

Use clear before they tear...otherwise you have no choice, either that or carbon

Maybe not everyone does, this is the first time he's mentioned it in this thread.

i’m trying to find rubber washers but but i really believe to work correctly they would need to sit down in the opening a bit .I have a vendor at work that punches gaskets for us he’s in this week i want to talk to him first he will know if what i want even exists or i’m hoping he can make me some or last resort i’ll just buy the ones i found already .Bottom line metal washers are the absolute worst thing you can put under posts the edge will dig in when post is hit hard , they should have known this .Sorry to all with the issues there seems to be a lot of you they need to make things right with all before i ever buy a NIB from them again .I’d imagine most of the missing art is behind the posts as when you hit a post from the front that sends the pressure to the back lip of the washer is this correct ?

For someone that’s trying to remove themselves from these discussions, you’re not doing so great at it.

#367 2 years ago

I just traded my GnR SE (first run) away this week for an AIQ Premium. I really did not like the game. I will say my playfield looked fine. All the posts towards the bottom had black washers. I made sure to add my vote to the poll. A bit concerning that roughly 37% of pinsiders that have voted had playfield damage

It is kind of a walk in vote so not sure we can validate that as any confirmation. My guess is 50% of those that voted don't own a GnR.

Is that the mini playfield? I have a SE and can’t find that area on my playfield.
I have dimpling but nothing around the posts. I haven’t seen anyone with a SE bring up playfield issues. Seems to be be all LE and CE

You don’t have a upper playfield. Yes it’s the upper. I know a guy who has a SE with 15 post just like mine.

Are you going to attempt a repair? The iron trick works well. I had a few posts that I fixed early on with a bit of pooling. Didn’t get the the point with the artwork tearing however.

#374 2 years ago

I can’t believe this shit is going on and people are still supporting JJP. Obviously they don’t give a shit.

Right now it’s turned off and sitting in the corner with a blanket. I don’t want to play it. When I get time, I will try to work on it.

I would think rubber washers would allow the post to flex a bit, eventually causing even more issues (and you alluded to that possible issue).

Washers (any kind) just seem to be a temporary fix that will likely cause more issues down the road.

What’s your build date?

#381 2 years ago

I have an Le on order...have these issues been resolved yet ? Starting to think about canceling with all these issues I see not to mention Jjp does recognize the issues.

#382 2 years ago

Yeah you’re buying at risk. There’s been no acknowledgement by JJP nor real solution. It appears later runs have some fixes and not sure if there are recent reports from the July builds. Either way there is no green light that the problems have been solved.

They will not help you. I have been there done that. You are on your own. The problem is still there. Later builds mean nothing.

some of the best artwork on a pinball. to bad JJP can not have it stick to the Wood that good huh. JJP Product Playfield SUX . Do not care if an outside co makes them it is a JJP Product and that Product has a BAD FLAW And JJP is not standing by it.
JJP SUX and Customer support can eat a D#*K

But the game is a homerun in my Ballpark . If i can only get past the Playfields Appetite For destruction and the PISS POOR PLAYFIELD CLEARCOAT PROBLEM
from just your common play i would have not one complaint / But The problem is There and happening ..

Sorry your game is destroying it self too with so little amount of play .... Which is way more sympathy then you will get from your Distro's or jjP

hi, build date is APR/21.

#387 2 years ago

it's seems that the containment action done by JJP on skillshot level is to add a plastic black washer.
already presents on my game.
i don't know the sustainability of this solution and if it can be extended on all posts (only 3 of them are currently concerned by the issue) .
But for my opinion the real corrective action would be to improve the printing and the varnish on playfield.
I'm afraid now that the playfield will peel off in other places !
however i await an answer of JJP customer support.

Yeah they’ve adding different washers to address the issue. We have no confirmation they have instructed Mirco to fix the base & clearcoat paint issues. It sounds like his quality is pure crap and doubt he’s improved it

#389 2 years ago

i have find this explanation regarding the root cause, the post having smallest size than the hole. it is not possible to block it correctly and it moves.

i have asked to Retrocengo who post video and JJP Have updated now there production, all new built GnR pins are corrected.
Nevertheless i don't know how are corrected the old ones.

No man. This has been refuted countless times.

Interested in this pin but worried about playfield quality. Would a playfield protector prevent these issues?

Quoted from JayLar:

No, because post bases (where the damage occurs), reside outside of the playfield protector.

#394 2 years ago

I hope they get this sorted out. More than half of the pins in the poll are listed as having issues. They just seem to be sticking their head in the sand and hoping it goes away.

#395 2 years ago

Typical Skewed poll, don't be so gullible.

My playfield slowly deteriorated with no support from JJP. I cut my losses and sold the machine. JJP customer service is sux at best! The only way I would buy a JJP machine in the future would be on the 2nd hand market and even then I would have to seriously think about that.

Very sad but understandable..

JJP is just killing their business . I cant understand their silence and blaming owners per Jack.

I am thinking about canceling my pre order and just buying a Catus C. CGC seems like the only company with good playfield's and customer service.

I sold my GNR LE spot before delivery and have never regretted it. I’ll never buy another JJP game, though I will keep my POTC. I’m considering AP’s next game with the money I had allocated for GNR.

They are not.
Too many people paid cash for their deposit... and they are now claiming those deposits are not refundable.
So people are left to gamble and hope for the best... or loose that deposit.
IT appears that many in this thread; including you are unwilling to send a clear message.

Demand order cancelation. Demand a refund of your deposit. Take JJP to small claims court for the deposit if you can't get the credit card to refund your deposit.
