Clearly u feel that way...so why do you troll these threads?

Trolling my ass hear are my post for this thread if you would like I can show you what real trolling would look like lol https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pollis-there-an-issue-with-your-gnr-playfield?tu=JY64

#202 3 years ago
Quoted from NightTrain:

Don’t you feel like it would better for the posts to be more tight? If they are loose, they can move and cause the pooling/chipping. I think there needs to be a fine balance between loose and too tight.

Yeah, it is a balance. I put them on enough to where they are secure, but I don't crank it to where they could cause issues. I wouldn't think if it loosens when playing that it would cause issues, but I could be wrong.

Quoted from jandrea95:

It takes a next level asshole to do something like that. Shameful, and I agree 100 percent. Guess I need to submit my claim quick before someone uses my pics, haha.

Honestly at this point it would make sense for JJP to have a claim like this be video chat on your phone. Call them up, show them the problems live. Go around to the back of your game, show them your serial number. Photos can be doctored or reused.

Definitely not disregarding the problem though. People that have an actual problem should get the support they need from JJP.

#204 3 years ago
Quoted from Palmer:

My SE is scheduled to be delivered on Monday. Will take some pics when I get it.
FWIW, I spoke with my distro and we got to talking about pooling/lifting issues with JJP and Stern games. He told me that he spoke to JJP back when several Wonkas had the issue. He said that JJP was getting tons of claims for replacement playfields but the majority (like 75%) were from people that were submitting the same exact photo. Go figure, there are scumbags out there just looking for a free playfield.
Moral of the story... if you don't have damage, don't be a scumbag and try to score a free playfield by faking damage. It hurts the people that actually need JJP support.

It does not surprise me that some douchebags would try that....However, I also wonder whether that is jjp's way of trying to minimize the severity of the problem?

Either way, anyone caught submitting someone else's pic should lose all warranty service....

Cheers,

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Or they can fix the playfield issues and it doesn’t matter how loose or tight the posts are.

All they have to do is have the post be slightly recessed into the PF, resting on real wood (no clear coat, etc.). That way, that provides the structural support and not impacting the PF top. Then, any part of the post above the PF is designed to not touch the PF. For example - a large plastic post?...what you see is just cosmetic. The real support is still in the recess and provides the structural integrity, not the top of the PF.

Granted, this doesn't fix any issue with a poor clear coat - it just moves the stress away from the top of the PF.

Just a wag on my end, but it gets rid of the high stress interface on the clear coat.

#206 3 years ago

Yeah seems there are multiple solutions to the problem, but so far, none are being used.

Odd thing is...later I even spotted what I was talking about here (using a SnipIt from the Playfield Protector post)

#208 3 years ago

Yeah. Why not do that everywhere?

#209 3 years ago

Here’s a thought, take it or leave it. It is t pooling. It is the clear lifting either around the post or around the washer from the downforce of the post. Them the clear chips and then the ink will chip.

#210 3 years ago
Quoted from Gorgonzola:

While that certainly applies to other areas of modern pinball (eg, assembly, wiring, soldering for playfield switches, etc), the portion of the playfield related to recent issues isn’t hand made (digital printed art and clear coat sprayed by a robot) and therefore most manufacturers can’t use the hand-made uniqueness excuse any more.

I agree. With all the manufacturers trying to improve playfield integrity, there is no "hand-made" excuse available. I would appreciate more explanations from manufacturers on the build process and quality testing. They don't/won't give out trade secrets, but addressing such an important industry-wide issue seems like a consumer hot button worth covering.

#211 3 years ago
Quoted from Dr-pin:

This is probably also connected to the availability issue.
They cant tell you when you get your game, cause they cant tell you when this get sorted.
It's an enigma. Spooky sorted this problem almost right away and ap has never had it?
Stern doesnt seem to care, since their customers are apple'esque.
Then you have jjp, who had this problem for four straight games and how many years?
It recked the initial sale/rumour on wonka, and here we go again.....
Why is this company loyal to mirco? Are they deadset on bellying up?

And is this issue on Mirco's process and materials in laying down the clear, or is it on JJP for not letting it cure b/c they used the PF too soon, or assume a cured completely PF - perhaps its a torque problem in assembly or something else. This is a consumer issue that needs to be addressed in this thread and any others on Pinside related to the PF's currently being used on a game that's early on in the sales cycle.

Quoted from bobukcat:

Buy a set of the cabinet protectors you insert before lifting the playfield and you'll have more piece of mind doing it. https://www.pinballlife.com/interior-cabinet-protector-blade-set.html?Category_Code=

Thanks for the recommendation, I am going to order a set of those tonight.
FYI, I haven’t got any feedback yet from JJP on my game and it’s remained off since I noticed the chip and the record dropped.

#214 3 years ago

Can you tell me why he must be in JJP threads shitting on them? Jesus Christ please tell me!!!

#215 3 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

Probably a self esteem issue.

#216 3 years ago
Quoted from PanzerFreak:

JJP should have solved this issue 2 years ago with Pirates. There's no more excuses.

They obviously don’t know how to fix the issue, and have to keep the production line moving or go out of business. Sad but I don’t see any other explanation that makes sense.

#217 3 years ago
Quoted from JY64:

Because Hot Wheels I like CGC but all old news so Stern and JJP it is as for trolling I do not speakup often unless some tool starts bashing Stern to build up JJP think Skyemont and lol romulusx

Have you considered using punctuation? Reading your posts are a real chore.

Quoted from Darkwing:

Sadly, I think this is precisely why.

#218 3 years ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Yeah seems there are multiple solutions to the problem, but so far, none are being used.

You'd have to somehow mask-off each hole before spraying clear then pull the masking off afterwards, which would be labor intensive. I think a potentially better idea would be to use a set of bits like kruzman sells for prepping the playfiled after clear cures and before you start installing posts but that too would add a lot of labor costs.

Anyone submitted their claim to JJP, and received a reply with solution? I did a couple weeks ago, with pictures... still investigating.

Congrats on your purchase.

The question I have for people is always, do you smell any paint/clearcoat outgassing when you remove the playfield glass?

Funny you ask. First thing I did was take the glass off and stick my face right down on it and give a big wiff. Nothing. No smell whatsoever. Even so I'm trying not play it for now.

A friend has issued a ticket, sent pics but nothing sense then. It’s been about 2 weeks.

#232 3 years ago

I haven’t gotten my LE yet but have been playing at Silverball in Asbury Park NJ. They’ve had the game for over three weeks now and as of yesterday the play field still looked fantastic. Can’t wait for mine to arrive.

Expect an uplifting call from Jack in around 12 months...
Unpopulated playfield may follow....

What is your issue specifically? Chipping or just pooling?

I am ok with that. Play the shit out of your game and then if you want to sell it with a new playfield, easy sale. If you want to keep it you can get the new playfield clearcoated properly by a playfield restorer and fit to have a new game again

#238 3 years ago

No chipping at this point, mainly pooling around the posts. I’m good with playing the hell out of it and within time, we’ll see what JJP comes up with, playfield etc... this is my first pin so not exactly sure what to expect. Love the game!

Yes, it’s better than nothing I guess.
Not many people have the clear coat skills this side of the pond though.

Few pics after 500 plays at home... time to replace the rubber

My NIB IMDN is pooled on every post like a tsunami, far worse than your GnR.... but the main difference is......it’s rock hard stable.
Your GnR clear looks like it’s lifting.

#244 3 years ago

Main areas I am seeing pooling/lifting. Not sure how this compares with others?

Personally, I would have no interest in buying that, even with the new PF
I can't do a PF swap, so that offers me no benefit.

Those black washers are FUGLY. How can they think thats an acceptable “fix”. How about FIX the issue.

#249 3 years ago

^^^^^Meanwhile JJP still posting sh^t on Social media - FB promoting t-shirts and blankets ffs.... why don’t they invest their time into the problems at hand, merchandise can wait.
This poor sucker buys his first pinball machine and gets a Playturd TM.

I don’t get how it’s a fix either because there seems to be more damage around the posts not associated with the slings and none of these other posts are getting washers.
