After reading the location operator's stories, I am curious to learn how much an individual usually spends on location pinball. Include coin drop for tournaments and league, but NOT entry fees.

Vote in the poll, then go support the folks who put quality machines on premise.

I don't keep track of how much money leaves my pocket or wallet. Just one more unnecessary thing to do.

    Please spend heaps!

I think a good question, one that may help operators, is what could be done to have us spend more money on location play?

-Better to charge by the hour? or per game?
    -Using Payrange?
    -Encouraging more league play?

    Including beer in cup holder?

This is an age loaded question. How much did I spend back in the day......I shudder to think of it. Now I'm 44, 2 kids and a wife, coach 2 hockey teams.....I'm rarely in a place where there is a pin.

WHAT location?? Our Arcade closed 3 years ago.
Wish I could have voted anything above $0.

Machines on location are few and far between in my area. Machines that are actually playable are even fewer.

Between the games I have, the shows I attend, small local gatherings, and the pinball arcade app, there are plenty of alternatives.

I'll spend maybe $2 or so every few months. A working, clean game will earn my attention. A broken and filthy one will not.

Once upon a time, Gottlieb put "Mr Operator" stickers on their system 80B and System 3 coinboxes. Every manufacturer should have had them, IMHO.

The lack of response in this topic has surprised me, and it also helps me realize how fortunate I am to have so many great games at great locations nearby.

Maybe the majority of posters here have collections at home and don't get out much, or have locations near them ?

I just moved to a small town with very little location pinball. When I lived in Milwaukee I probably spent on average $10 a week. Some weeks more or less depending on tournaments. But it probably came out to $40.

Where I live now, I have to drive to find quality location pinball. When I make the trip, I spend a lot. But the stuff near my house is so beat up it isn't worth spending a penny. I've reached out to operators and owners of the machines but they don't care. It's a shame because I'd gladly play location pinball every week if they fixed up the machines.

Didn't do any good. The operator didn't even keep the cash box cover clean.
