I really dislike orange juice without pulp in it. It's unnatural and kind of freaks me out. My wife feels the same way. My sister-in-law, on the other hand, absolutely hates pulp. It makes her gag. I'm very curious to see which view is more popular.

Quoted from Pahuffman:Poll needs an option for "prefer no pulp but OJ is delicious and I'll drink it either way."
I thought about that, but I didn't want to fracture the voting too much. I'm most curious about the people who either hate it or love it. If you prefer one or the other but will still drink it either way, then option three would be the most appropriate choice.
I wonder if this is a US thing only - selling OJ with or without pulp? Or is the also sold like this in other countries

There are the choices available locally. No Pulp, Low Pulp, Pulp, and Extra Pulp.
Damn. I was hoping this was a Pulp Fiction pin sneak peek.
I like pulp, but wife doesn't. Guess what's in the fridge?
Pulp is great and gives the juice a natural feeling. When I was younger I used to leave a piece of pulp on my lip and stare at my sister She would get all kinds of pissed off.

I generally would take pulp over no pulp unless the OJ is being used in a mimosa, in which case, no pulp.

This is an excellent point. If the orange juice is being used as a mixer, then I have no problem with it being pulp free. I just don't like drinking plain juice without the pulp.

Beer?
Quoted from Chitownpinball:I dont like having to use my teeth to strain that crap while I drink.
Yeah I think you're doing it wrong, you just swallow it.

But its groooooossssss

That's what i told her
I'm a big fan of flow, so I like no pulp option. I mean, smooth and buttery. It makes for a really fun OJ experience.
Pulp just seems to get in the way of the drink, like the popups on The Hobbit.
Take a look at my collection. Flow all the way.
In Italy they use blood oranges which are naturally more tart. They put cherry juice in it to sweeten it up. Its something to get used to, but I liked it in the end.
For drinking, yes pulp. I have been using OJ in a lot of marinades lately for pork and chicken on the BBQ, and have been using the no pulp options.
Quoted from Rock914:Either is fine as long as it has vodka.
Came here to say the same. Carry on.

OJ is awesome marinade for chicken! Also like to marinade chicken in Pineapple juice. Will have to try pork, never tried that yet.
Orange Juice is crap and not a **healthy** part of anyone's diet, at all.
The corporations have convinced you that you should drink 2 twelve ounce glasses of it a day, but each glass contains NINE TEASPOONS of sugar!
Those 2 glasses of OJ are your ENTIRE DAY'S worth of carbs.
Or think of it another way, if you or your kids drink 2 glasses of OJ a day, that's 140 CUPS OF SUGAR A YEAR.
Don't be a fool, there are thousands of healthy foods, and OJ is not one of them.
Quoted from vid1900:...
The corporations have convinced you that you should drink 2 twelve ounce glasses of it a day,...
WTF do you live, Florida? I've never heard anyone say people should drink a double deuce of juice a day, although it's a catchy jingle.
As an added bonus, "Not from concentrate" OJ is worse than the concentrated stuff.
Orange trees only have one crop a year, so they have to pasteurize the OJ (heat it to 180*F) , then store it in giant tanks for up to a year.
This many month old, cooked OJ, tastes terrible, so the corporations have to add perfume and brighteners to the "100% pure" OJ in order to make it resemble something drinkable.
The perfume packets added while packaging is the most important step in the process, and many different labs battle it out to create the ultimate flavor pack.
That's why OJ you squeeze yourself tastes nothing like the Not From Concentrate stuff you buy at the store.
Here is a likeable broad explaining it in plain english:
Store bought juice is not "healthy" by any stretch. Unless you are running a juicer or making homemade smoothies or something, a few ounces right when you wake up to jack your blood sugar is all you need. Kids especially should skip the juice/juice boxes/juice packs etc. They are just sugar bombs. Terrible. So sad.
Quoted from TheLaw:WTF do you live, Florida?
Sadly, I have lived there.
People who live in FL can also tell you that oranges are dyed that bright orange color.
They sure don't look like that when you pick them in your backyard.
Even worse, the label does not have to tell parents that the oranges are boiled in orange wax to color them:

Its the same here in the great white north. Pulp or no pulp, its all good to me.
Damnit mods...we all knew you were gonna lock all those idiotic threads down, but 5 day vacation? Been waitin all day for him to clear his daily million and get in here to spar/troll in his completely incoherent and grammaticaly challenged sentences that are kinda comedy gold.
I drink OJ once a year when I visit family in Florida. I walk to the backyard, pick some oranges off the tree, and squeeze them into a glass. Once you have OJ fresh off the tree, you will never drink processed OJ again.
Edit: Fresh not only has pulp in the glass, it has seeds too!
Quoted from Pinballlew:OJ is awesome marinade for chicken! Also like to marinade chicken in Pineapple juice. Will have to try pork, never tried that yet.
Google "Kyle Style" smoked pork butt. Crushed pineapple is used in the marinade and it is really good.
