I am guessing Cassandra is contractually barred from licensing an Elvira game to a competitor for a period of years after the release of EHOH. It seems reasonable enough.

Quoted from pinballaddicted:Pleas read posts 930, 932 and 933. That will answer your question and stop you guessing! Old games can be remade.
I don't follow. I'm sure they would still need additional licensing from Elvira, just like they would for the actors in TAF or TZ if they remade those games.
Quoted from pinballaddicted:Ok. You guys know more than CGC and PPS.
Maybe you could enlighten us and show us the exact wording that states they can make *any* game they want from the entire B/W library without any additional licensing. I would have thought that it's fairly common knowledge that that's not how it works. Farsight couldn't do it with their virtual recreations. Hell, the original manufacturers of these machines couldn't even make more machines after their associated licenses expired. Could Stern just go ahead and run more Tron without renewing the license with Disney? Of course not.
Quoted from transprtr4u:Not holding my breath, been too many "next month's"
Sheer speculation on the poster, if at #LTG doesn't know the what where's and when, can't imagine this being true.. Let alone the changes in design and software. The R usually means remake not redo!
Guess we will see next month
I do think that recent code updates being developed for WPC games suggests that a custom CC could be in the works. I can't see Planetary getting the licensing to do this just for funzies, or for the benefit of the owners of games from the 90's. I think it's more likely they had a commercial interest in being able to expand on the old code, but it's possible CC could be a red herring.
I've heard rumblings about updated code being in the works for B/W games. Not just bug fixes, and not just the remakes either. If true, this could really give a new lease on life to some of these older titles with great gameplay, but dated code. It seems like it could make sense if CCr is getting a makeover and bugs in the B/W games have been getting squashed recently.
Quoted from flynnibus:are you talking about soren's fixes? Which are now blessed by PPS?
Those are the bug fixes I was referring to, but I think the recent involvement of PPS is related to the expansion of CCr code and that new rules for some B/W games could be in the works too.
Quoted from Tradesman:Ben Heck was just on Kaneda's most recent podcast and basically confirmed the next game is Cactus Canyon. He should have some kind of inside info since he is working with them on an upcoming independent title.
Yup. I'm thinking that patent for TZ could be related to the Arcade 1UP or other recent virtual pinball releases.
Quoted from TechnicalSteam:There is a Virtual Pinball TZ release? I've heard some murmor of PinballFx
I don't know much about the latest virtual pins, but I read that Arcade1up had been securing licensing for additional pin titles. It's not clear if this is for a 2nd gen virtua pin coming out, or a downloadable table pack. It's just a possible reason why there could be a recent pinball related hit on the licensing.
Quoted from nerdygrrl:Same here, I said I wouldn't buy another remake after my experience, but if they came out with a BBBr I would be all over that.
+1 for BBBr. I was collecting when B/W games could be had for a lot less, but I have never had a chance to get a cheap BBB. I also have no affinity for Capcom flipper feel, so they don't need to be a perfect copy.
Quoted from Bublehead:The longer you play it the more tired you get of hearing two callout phrases... here's your bounty and Gold..........Mine..........Multiball!!!
You forgot the best one: "Lock is LIT... and so am I!"
