Quoted from happyclan:I didn't know that.
Now you do…
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:The CGC architecture is different yes, but it's still emulating the original operating system and code. You would never be able to do the additional CGC features like RGB GI or big color DMD, but the code should run on an original machine when burned to an eprom.
You got to think about where the money is going to come from. How much can they get away with charging for a code update? How many people would actually buy it? How much work will it take them to offer that? On top of that, offering a ROM would likely take away from new machine sales. Doesn't seem like a money-making proposition, if I were them I'd probably stick to my core business and sell new machines. They'll make more money and keep their line running, selling some ROMs won't pay the bills. Maybe if you want guys want to pay $1,000 or more for the code update, otherwise I can't see it making any sense for them.
If their code COULD run on OG equipment, and only after they stop selling the remake, that's the only time they could possibly consider it IMO. But then I don't think their code CAN run on OG so it's a moot point.
Quoted from Bublehead:If their code COULD run on OG equipment, and only after they stop selling the remake, that's the only time they could possibly consider it IMO. But then I don't think their code CAN run on OG so it's a moot point.
We'll see how they do it this time (if it's more work to redo everything from scratch or having the original source code and add to the original ROM) but if it's technically possible (there's more hurdles involved, since if they alter the ROM they don't have necessarily follow hardware restrictions) and they won't sell it I guess we'd see a hacked Rom-Dump sooner or later.
"Selling" the ROM standalone is... well... they'd sell ONE, and then a lot of us would happily copy it, I guess.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:they'd sell ONE
Boy you ARE the realist, eh? Yeah, once the dump was out... it would be all over the internet.

Was I wrong to stick around until the chorus?
Let's hope CGC announces and reveals their next remake! Anybody know if any of the presentations are getting streamed at Southern Fried Gaming Expo?
Quoted from pinballonthemark:Anybody know if any of the presentations are getting streamed at Southern Fried Gaming Expo?
I haven't seen anything on Pinside or their website.

Quoted from Concretehardt:Boom!![quoted image]
The people who've doubted it was CC for the past 2 years probably still won't believe.
Quoted from Rum-Z:The people who've doubted it was CC for the past 2 years probably still won't believe.
Lol. It was so obvious it was cc
Quoted from Rum-Z:The people who've doubted it was CC for the past 2 years probably still won't believe.
Doubt it
Quoted from RooDoom:Any intel on when CC will be available?
I believe 4 to 6 weeks. Waiting more licensor approval.
Quoted from chad:I believe 4 to 6 weeks. Waiting more licensor approval.
Post 68 in the Southern Fried show thread.
He just said availability is subject to licensor approval and is expected within 4-6 weeks. They have games on the line right now and over 850 playfields finished
Quoted from thechakapakuni:Seems strange to announce a product that doesn’t have license approval?
Bally/Williams license approval via Planetary Pinball.
Quoted from Mr68:Bally/Williams license approval via Planetary Pinball.
Probably Scientific Games too.
Since they and PPS are in the same state. May help.

Hooray. Cactus Canyon Remake. CGC just saved me $10k+. I’m sure it will be great and gorgeous. Just not for me.
If you aren’t happy with CCr then standby ...
They have 5 pinball projects in work right now with a goal to release 2 games per year
Covid has impacted CGC and their suppliers significantly
They have been working hard to expand output capacity as well as hiring development staff. Their new Pinball Operating System should give them lots of flexibility
CHC Wouldn’t say if other projects included original games or if they are reworks - would not confirm nor deny
Quoted from Oscope:They have 5 pinball projects in work right now with a goal to release 2 games per year
That’s amazing. Did they hire Robert Mueller or Jpoop or something?
Quoted from tomaszb1:Man suck was really hoping for WH20!
I would love it if that was the next one!
Quoted from Oscope:I forgot to mention that more MMr machines will be produced in the near future EXCEPT for the Royal Edition for which NO more will ever be made[quoted image]
I got so happy and sad in the same sentence, really wanted a MMRE
Quoted from Oscope:I forgot to mention that more MMr machines will be produced in the near future EXCEPT for the Royal Edition for which NO more will ever be made[quoted image]
Any cost update on ccr or mmr

Quoted from Mcgringoloco:Any cost update on ccr or mmr
He avoided discussion related to $Cost of machines as well as any details about the topper other than it is totally beyond prior toppers and would be integrated into the gameplay with significant I/O to the main game
Quoted from Oscope:I forgot to mention that more MMr machines will be produced in the near future EXCEPT for the Royal Edition for which NO more will ever be made[quoted image]
I'll never get why they full stop production inbetween titles but MMR being back on the line is my personal highlight!
In other terms: Is that still Windows 7?
Quoted from Oscope:I forgot to mention that more MMr machines will be produced in the near future EXCEPT for the Royal Edition for which NO more will ever be made[quoted image]
2023 on MMr though. So good news for patient people. Why……..is……making……..pinball…….so……….slooooow…….?
Quoted from SNES:So pumped to hear about more MMRs coming out!
ME TOO! Almost pulled the trigger on a couple that were for sale. Glad I didn’t,NIB for me!
Quoted from pinnyheadhead:2023 on MMr though. So good news for patient people. Why……..is……making……..pinball…….so……….slooooow…….?
WTF?!? Is this just speculation or did they actually say that?!
Quoted from Oscope:I forgot to mention that more MMr machines will be produced in the near future EXCEPT for the Royal Edition for which NO more will ever be made[quoted image]
Wait… the slide says 378 new royal editions to be made and then another batch of special and standard editions? Or did they mean this are the amount of royals made before (and no new ones).
