Not from me!
Quoted from MooButt:Give us Cactus Canyon and White Water
Wow, that would be nice!
I assume CC is coming in July or soonish, but I wonder when the game after that is coming? And if it is a remake of a original CGC title?

Yup. Heard it for three years . I'd say Chicago gaming is about done.

With Remakes? Could be…
Whenever they release their next game it will sell out in no time. I will be ready and waiting to get mine. The way pinball is now anything will likely sell very well. I think CGC is being smart and making sure they come out with a product that puts their competitors to shame.
Quoted from zaki:Yup. Heard it for three years . I'd say Chicago gaming is about done.
They make other products, not just pinball remakes.

I've heard TOM then an original title.
Quoted from LTG:HaHa. No.

A company has to have some revenue. Right? No pins left for sale=what $? I don't think they are getting revenue from just selling arcade legends. I've heard this new game stuff for years from insiders, distributors, etc. Nothing here month after month.
Quoted from Only_Pinball:I've heard TOM then an original title.
Wow! That would throw me for a loop! A good loop!
I just assumed CC is next.
Both good for me.

They aren't. They make other things.

I thought they might have joined forces to do Pinball Circus ? Anyway, a few little birdies have said we are very close to hearing something. The lines ready to go !

I meant after CCr.
Quoted from Indusguys:Whenever they release their next game it will sell out in no time.
And they‘re not even (all) limited.
I just can‘t get how you can release a machine and then just stop, for multiple months/ years.
Who really knows but as a guess. Licensing, BatFlu, parts supply, programming ?? Whatever the reason is for the delay I’m sure the next title /s will have us forgetting about the looong wait.
Quoted from Only_Pinball:I've heard TOM then an original title.
Heard this from people that work at Chicago Gaming? Source?

Just from parsing communication from Rick at Planetary over the years, it seemed that a TOM remake was high on the list of 7.

Did I hear correctly that Planetary has the license to TOTAN as well?

I assume they all the Bally/Williams licenses correct?
CGC licenses WMS stuff thru PPS. So far CGC has re-made the easy sell titles (MM, AFM, MB) with CC expected next. What if CGC decides that most of the others (such as ToM and TotAN) will not sell well enough to justify re-making complete machines? CGC did not add the oversized higher-detailed DMD screen until their AFM remake, then later offered an upgrade kit to add it to their MM remakes. What if CGC started making oversized higher-detailed DMD kits for lots of '90s B/W titles, like SS and ToM and TotAN and CFTBL? I'd be in for some, even though it would mean replacing ColorDMDs I already have in them.

I was thinking of that as well, was wondering why someone didn’t try to hook up a MM xl display to a older machine. Or maybe someone has.
They look amazing.

From a CGC dealer

Because it's totally different hardware.

I know this has been mentioned ad-nauseum, but IJ TPA re-made would be an absolute smash hit. Used machine sales and expressed interest is very high for it as we can all see.

Totally agree but the license would probably be next to impossible to secure

Shouldn't stop CGC from trying. I'd be surprised if they have not made some calls already.

Because Williams software won't support it. ( won't work )

You'd have to do the software for the bigger screen on LCD. Dots and colors.
This isn't simple like having a small TV and then replace it with a bigger one and now have a bigger picture.

I don't know how it can't be when CBS extended its trademark filing on July 1st for TZ. Just for the hell of it? I don't see any other outcome.
CGC silent + CBS trademarking + "oh big deal coming" + aging Lawlor (massive respect here!!) = TZ

CBS has a new Twilight Zone series on its streaming service. What makes you think it has anything to do with Pinball?
PS - I would buy a TZr in a heartbeat... but that one seems unlikely to me.
Also - Trademark extensions cost next to nothing. Why wouldn't they extend it?
Sometimes people buy things just so other people can't have them.
Pretty common in business and i have done it with domains.

this trademark filing isn't for TV. It's for pinball games, exclusively. it provides no protection outside of that specific use. (see below)

nope. can't do that with trademarks. it's impossible to "warehouse" them like you could domains or twitter handles. It has to be bona fide use in commerce to qualify for registration. CBS is too sophisticated, especially on IP, to do something like that randomly. https://www.cohnlg.com/trademark-use-in-commerce-heres-how-it-works/
It's TZ. It's happening. But let's put ourselves in CGC's position.
1. We want to make a rad machine
2. We think it should be TZ or CCr.
3. MBr didn't sell great, or as great as MMr.
4. Let's do TZ.
5. Call CBS because PPS says they don't 100% of rights.
6. CBS says we own it all but will license the IP, including the trademark.
7. CBS realizes they have no TZ trademark, for PINBALL USE, to license, so they file at or near same time as deal signed with CGC.
8. Sign deal.
9. Start to make TZ.
10. We are delayed by covid.
11. CBS says okay, we can't finish the trademark until it sells. We'll extend our submission to the USPTO. Send us over a picture when it launches and we can formalize the registration with the USPTO.
(You are here in the timeline.)
12. CGC continues building.
13. CGC releases TZ.
14. CBS files the evidence of use to the USPTO and finalizes the trademark.
15. Big profit for CGC and pin community.
I might be wrong, but again, I ask how do you reconcile the trademark filing, and especially the extension?

I asked Rick years ago, around the time they were doing the first MMRs, if PPS/CGC would consider doing TZ. He answered in two ways, first there are ton of TZs out there, and second it is an extremely complicated (and expensive) game to make. So, I bought a restored TZ. CCr sounds pretty cool to me, although ToTAN and BBB would be fine by me as well.
I have a loaner Twilight Zone here. It's a good game but it's not 3 times as good as the Judge Dredd that's sitting next to it. I wouldn't buy one i don't think.

My daughters didn’t care for TZ. I played it a couple times but not enough to really form an opinion. The theme alone will draw interest for sure though, it’s Twilight Zone and has been around for decades and many generations.
