Quoted from Blackbeard:Da Jews are MINE!!
Can't wit to hear these callouts again. I remember Police Force having some of the most sound effects of any System 11 machine. I may be remembering wrong, but we'll see. Should fit nicely between Bad Cats and Big Guns.
Chris
Has anyone purchased the mirrored Police Force backglass from CPR?
My translite is fine, just wondering if the "upgrade" is worth it.
Chris
Got the Police Force set up in the basement. Have some things I need to sort out, but it's up an running.
The flippers will need a rebuild, that's no big deal. I am getting a DIVERTER IN error and the ramp diverter doesn't seem to be functioning during gameplay or coil test. I'll dig into that, but am excited to get this one cleaned up!
Chris
Quoted from Meri-cah:Ramp diverter is a very common problem with this machine. Unfortunately you must remove the entire playfield from the machine to access it. When I got my police force almost 2 years ago it would click a lot like it was trying to divert but nothing was happening. Took it apart. Cleaned it up and reinstalled. Been working perfectly since. Apparently it’s just one of those things
Thanks. It doesn't seem to do anything now. Bought the machine unshopped, so I expected some things to need to be done. Will address during the shop out. Thank you for the info!
I got a new cable for the police car too. Any ides on how to attach that? It is one long piece of plastic belt, but no way to attach the ends together

Chris
OKay, so does anyone have detailed tear down pics of a police force shop out?
I took lots of photos (or so I thought) but an seriously stumped at some stuff and the order in which I removed it.
Thanks
Chris
Would anyone want my used ramps? They aren't totally trashed, but do have some damage (see pics).
The screw holes are also blown out to they would need larger screws at the entrance to keep them down.
Ramps are free but shipping would be pricey as the box would be large. If you are in the Allentown, PA area we could meet up for local pickup as well.

I'm here
Got mine all working except for the diverter which will be worked on soon.
Chris
Quoted from Premier:Is there is any mods available for this title?
CPR makes a mirrored backglass to replace the translite.
Chris
Quoted from Ryguy80:Think I answered my own question. Was looking at the manual, I think the ball gate underneath the skill shot plastic isn't working properly (not stopping the ball from going downwards) in order to get the ball into the top right eject to launch into the playfield. Now I know where to start looking.
You seem to be on the right path. The area should look like this:
Quoted from sullivcd40:Ran the test with a new fuse and the f4 popped with a bright flash when I got to the 3a diverter coil.
Have you worked on the diverter? This is the same issue i am having with my Police Force. The diverter coil was toast. It was totally gummed up and would not move. Not sure if the gumming up of the assemble caused the coil issue, but man it was bad. I got everything cleaned up and replaced and now the fuse doesn't blow, but it doesnt work either. I am thinking the pre driver is bad as well, but my testing with meter hasn't gone well.
Hope you can get yours resolved soon!
Chris
Quoted from Seamlesswall:Just fixed up a battery leak on a neighbors Police Force, fun game, love the cop car. His left and right plastics are trashed to the entrance to the center ramp, Todd Tuckey showed some metal protectors there, I assume not, but are these available?
Cliffy makes these. http://www.passionforpinball.com/pforce.htm
Chris
Quoted from look_busy:Looks like they don't have a kit for PF. I don't think I'm in a position to spec out the whole collection of individual lights. But thank you!
Are you looking to color match stuff? In my opinion, kits are subjective. In my police force I used Comet cool white LED's all over. Non-ghosting in the inserts, and regular for the GI.
Chris
Quoted from look_busy:Yes, no doubt kits are subjective, but I defer to people who have spent a lot of time thinking about it and put kits together.
So you just use all white lights and let the game provide the color? Intriguing.
that's what I do usually. I used a kit on my Dr Dude and didn't like a lot of the choices that were made. I have yet to change it, but I prefer the white lights typically.
EDIT: I just realized I uploaded the wrong video, but this is all cool white LED's in my High Speed
Chris
Quoted from sullivcd40:That looks awesome. How many did you buy?
A while back i bought like 500 to do all my games. I took them from that lot.
Chris
Question regarding cabinet art.
My game does NOT have art on the front panel. It only says POLICE FORCE, like this:
Most others I have seen have additional art, like this:
But now I am curious. I saw another Police Force at the Allentown show that was like mine (no additional art). Did they make different versions? It made me curious seeing another like I have. Mine looks factory and shows no sign opf being repainted.
Anyone know why this is?
Thanks!
Chris
Quoted from sullivcd40:I think I'm going to remove my center ramp to clean and wax my playfield. I've never done it before. Is there anything I can really screw up while doing this?
It's pretty straight forward. Don't lose the tiny little nylon washers on each side if the ramp switch wireforms. Ask me how I know
LOL
Chris
Quoted from sullivcd40:Here is what mine has.
[quoted image]
Thanks. I wonder if they changed it at some point.
Chris
Ok, so…..this damn diverter!!!! The coil was crispy when I got the dame and the diverter was all gummed up. Replaced the coil and cleaned up the assembly.
Still nothing. Replace the TIP and associated prescriber and nothing. Thought I may have other board issues.
Installed a replacement System 11 board (new, from Dimbass). STILL nothing from the diverter.
Not sure where to go next. It does NOT fore in coil test. Wiring is secure as far as I can tell.
Any ideas?
Also. Does this plug look correct? This is from the relay near the diverter.

Some background - I got this as a working project. There were issues with the diverter. The coil was burnt up and the assembly was seized. I got that worked out but the diverter still did not work.
I determined that the transistor and pre driver for the Diverter coil were bad. Or so I thought. I replaced those components, but no change.
I bought a replacement CPU from Victor (Dumbass here on Pinside) - got everything hooked up and still nothing from the diverter. This led me to believe that it was not a MPU issue. But here's when the OTHER issue starts....
I bent a pin on the sound processor ship when transferring them over so the "new" board didnt have sound. I got a replacement and put it in the new board and I have sound again.....sort of. Music works but nothing in the sound test. I was missing the sounds and voices. I moved all the chips back to the original board and have the same issue. So I got replacement soiund ROMs (U22, U21, U4 and U19). Replaced those today but STILL only have music. No other sounds or speech.
I can live without the diverter for now as the game will still play, but no sounds is bothering me. Any ideas? I have poured over all the connections several times and do not see anything I have missed.
Cross posted in the System 11 thread as well.
Thanks!
Chris
Looking for replacement lenses for Police Force. Anyone sell these? Mine are super rough. The blues can be polished half decently but most of the mounting points are broken
Also need the center speaker cover.

They came out pretty well. But now I have another question. I’m trying to remove the pictured ball guide. The stud closest to the bottom of the photo is still attached but I can’t for the life of me find a corresponding but n the bottom of the playfield for it. Unless it’s underneath another mechanism. Anyone have a clue?

I’ve used a mallet to pop these out from underneath once or twice. They get really stuck.
I'll check again tonight, but it didn't want to budge before.
Chris
Been working on a Police Force for my father in law. Have made good progress. Here’s some before and after photos so far (clearly out of order)….. still w ways to go. I’m no HEP but it’ll be a nice player once it’s done.

This game was so full of hacks.
This one made me chuckle. I was having issues with the car going up and down. The rod was all gummed up and it was clear the belt wasn’t original. Well I replaced it and cleaned the metal rod and it’s great now. But this was the old “belt” .
I guess it got the job done

Quoted from Bohdi:Looking MUCH better. Nice work. She was dirty. Looks like my EATPM when i got it years ago. But she turned out well when I was done. Probably gonna do a similar topside teardown on my PF. Mine is nowhere near as bad is yours, just needs a little clean up, rubbers and some new posts and ? I've tore down 4 system 11 games over the years, just curious how easy or tough this one was for you?
Thanks. I personally think this one is pretty easy to do. If yours is like mine, ALL the posts will be locktite-d into the T-Nuts and will likely break. I was prepared for this as most of my System 11 machines were like this. The posts are expensive at $5 a piece so just beware.
Of the system 11's I've done, I find this the easiest. Diner was a giant pain in the rear end in my opinion. Had I not needed parts I probably could have gotten this done in probably 2 or 3 days if it were all I worked on. Police Force was definitely easier than Earthshaker, Diner, and Bride of Pinbot (I know, not a System 11 but I still count it, LOL).
Chris
Quoted from Bohdi:Yeah, this teardown doesn't look too bad. I bought it last fall and it had new ramps, but it's a bit dirty everywhere else. Playable, but. I've done a TAXI, EATPM, Cyclone and a Rollergames. This one looks to be about the easiest. Post some pics when you have yours done
If you did those others I don't think you'll have any issues at all with Police Force. Working through some electronic issues (switch matrix) on mine then I'll take final pics.
Chris
Finally got my father-in-law's machine done to the point where I am ok delivering it to him. Had to work to chase down a switch matrix issue butnow verything is working 100% and it looks pretty good. It's not perfect, but he isn't after perfect. Just a nice machine he can not be embarrassed to have in his basement. I think it came out great, but that's my opinion. LOL
Oh, and the switch matrix issue was some corroded pins in the connector on the MPU, which was from what we can surmise was battery leakage at some point.
Some "Before" pics are in my post here: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/police-force-club-we-enforce-the-law-of-the-jungle/page/13#post-7369471
Also, a huge thank you to DumbAss for the replacement interconnect board as the one we had was so hacked up.

Quoted from jrcmlc:Do you, or does anyone have a bulb list for this game? Comet doesn't offer a full kit.
I honestly prefer to NOT use a kit. I don't always like the color choices others thing are right. I can see if I can dig up my list from when I did mine. Not sure if I still have it.
Oh, and your package shipped today. You should have it tomorrow.
Chris
Quoted from galaga50:Can anyone post a picture of how the rubbers under the first animal bank on the left? I took mine off and can't remember how they go! TIA
Not sure if this helps or not
IMG_8850 (resized).pngQuoted from jrcmlc:Where is the cheapest place, best way to get the spinner decals? I have the target spinner and opto disc completely done, ready to sell at a NO GOUGE™ price but thought having them complete with the stickers would be nice. What's the best way to do that, other than recreating them from scratch as well?
I thought Marco had the decals.
Chris
Quoted from jrcmlc:What do you guys think? I don't think they are a close enough match.
[quoted image]
Looks close but appears that is needs to be "brighter" if that makes sense.
