Hi guys,

New to posting- first post actually!!

Just started a tear down on my Police Force! I scored a NOS playfield and am planning to install eventually!

I would like to get new ramps and plastics one day before installing. No point doing a half job.

Still trying to clean up the old one though. Mylar came off in one piece. Man is it filthy!

Figured i would share a couple images!

Cheers,
Brian

Thanks guys! Its cleaning up alot better than I thought it would. A little bit of wear at the bottom right (where the ball falls from the center ramp). I will have to fill that and re-paint. Spinner is in awesome shape, just ordered new decals for it and the drop targets yesterday.

Its definitely not the worst condition pin I've owned hahaha.

To get a new ramp set and plastics up here would run me around $800 Cad with shipping. That is definitely a hard pill to swallow!! I could almost get another pin for that.

For now its just a wall hanger as I couldn't turn it down when it was offered to me.

Cheers!
Brian

Quoted from woody76:

You just have to be careful putting to much into a machine like this. I have one and love it, but I also had to dial back my spending on it because at the end of the day it is still a $2000 or less game.

I totally agree, up here I may get a little more as pinball prices are stupid high right now- but still, I would never get my money back out of it. I went crazy on a High Speed a few years back and I broke even. But I also went all out on a T2 and lost about $600.

For now, I will just clean it up and have fun with it. My family seems to like PF over any other pin that I've brought home hahaha.

Quoted from desertT1:

Is that NOS playfield getting cleared? I would suggest doing that for sure. Without Mylar PF has got to have some of the least durable art ever. Mine has Mylar and where it doesn’t, just below the spinner, inlanes, outlanes, and other spots are worn to the wood.

The NOS playfield still has mylar on it. I am just going to keep that one as original as possible.

I pulled the mylar off my old playfield. I am definitely considering clearing the old playfield though, as it is wearing to the wood as well.

I went over board !
If anyone has some nice custom score cards ? Love to buy a set .
If that nos playfield might be for sale
Would love to have Ron Kruzman clear it
And put it in my game ?[quoted image]

That is beautiful!!! Very nice job!

I was able to put my Police Force back together today, no extra screws leftover and only one led flasher was in backwards.

I didnt end up using my NOS playfield but did lots of cleaning on the existing one. I couldnt justify using the playfield, when my current one was good enough.

Cleaned everything, Cliffys installed on the ramps, Comet Leds (except flashers), new pop bumper bodies, caps and skirts, broken posts replaced, new ball guides at the top, new flipper linkages, new sleeves, balls and rubbers and a real good waxing. She plays great now, very fast!!

Added a bunch of pictures to the teardown file in Pinside too!

I'd send it your way Whitey if I wasnt scared it would be seized at the border!

I tried to buy a used guitar out of Florida in November and it was seized at the border due to the wood. I couldn't believe it.
