Does anyone have the specs/file/drawing for the spinner, this POS I bought yesterday is missing it and I'd happily exchange printing up a batch for free, for the file/specs/drawing.

There's one on ebay if you are still looking for a source spinner for $10 + shipping. ebay.com link: itm

I think that's just the disc

I pulled the ad because my wife decided that we should just go ahead and do it even though we're going to be far upside down on it. I haven't ordered any parts for it yet, but I guess it'll get done. Eventually. LOL

Quoted from Ryguy80:

Are you holding onto your Police Force? I read the backstory on how you acquired it and it's too bad there are a-holes in the community who are like this. I'm intrigued how this machine turns out if you decide to go ahead with the project.

#654 1 year ago

I guess I'm gonna do it. I ordered ramps today from starship. My go to for plastics is out of stock but will throw them in my Marco's order, which will be substantial lol. Gonna throw some pinball life's way probably too.... And then titan and comet... Then Cliffy and I'm still left with a ding in the playfield and no target spinner and peeling decals near the legs. Sigh.

New ramps make a huge difference. Best w sunlight leds imo for gi.

10-4 on that I bought myself new bad cats Rams as well the ones that I have actually are in pretty good shape but I figured why not combine some shipping. I have sunlight in it and I can't get over how great it looks I never thought I would like LEDs in that game and I wouldn't consider doing it any other way now

Do you, or does anyone have a bulb list for this game? Comet doesn't offer a full kit.

I honestly prefer to NOT use a kit. I don't always like the color choices others thing are right. I can see if I can dig up my list from when I did mine. Not sure if I still have it.

Oh, and your package shipped today. You should have it tomorrow.

Chris

and YOUR package will ship tomorrow and you should have it saturday at latest.

I really like Comet's choices for the bad cats kit they made for me (that they now sell with some changes made by me, thank you very much, back pat, back pat lol)....My bad cats makes my Jurassic Park look like dog shit. That's right, you heard it here folks. BadCats > JP

Got my starship ramps. Also got a set for badcats.

Where is the cheapest place, best way to get the spinner decals? I have the target spinner and opto disc completely done, ready to sell at a NO GOUGE™ price but thought having them complete with the stickers would be nice. What's the best way to do that, other than recreating them from scratch as well?

#665 1 year ago

Does anyone know the opto part number? Not the board, but the component itself.
I've looked online and there are a few different ones.

#666 1 year ago

The actual component to re-solder onto the board?
I have one out on my bench if you think it's on there where I can find it.

I thought Marco had the decals.

They do, they're just high. I ordered a set, hoping to get them made much cheaper so the price of the part stays really low and I can ship it complete with decals and opto disc

yep the actual component. There's several different types on marco, pinlife etc

I ended up going to Marco when I needed a new decal in front. I think they are the only place that sells them, other than eBay, but didn't look to see what's posted here in the Marketplace.

Thanks for the photos. Seems the numbers on it are different for everyone.
I'm gonna try TCST1103 from pinball life and see what happens. Just check its got 4 pins, some others have 5.
The manual doesn't mention the part number.

Will post here if it works or not.

My plastics and rubbers, ramps, everything I've been waiting on is here, time to polish this turd.

#674 1 year ago

On the subject of the target spinner, I have found a source for the stickers, should be able to provide the spinner unit complete with sticker and opto disc and instructions very soon.

#675 1 year ago

I already listed the opto disk in my shop, 2 for $5 shipped should be a reasonable price I think. I'll do the same with the stickers as well when they're finished. Set of stickers for $5 shipped, or something like that. Will see once they are done.

#676 1 year ago

Can someone post or send me about 5 pics of how the "cover" plastic attaches / looks on their center ramp? I have 2 black standoffs and 2 screws and it looks like a monkey fucked a football while assembling it, I can't figure out what it's supposed to look like. I'm reassembling this thing and on the last leg, although it'll have to come 40% back apart because Starship failed to send me one of the decals for the outer ramp. Fml

#677 1 year ago

I spent most of the day on this police force unfucking what John Yates did to this thing, all new plastics, ramps, rubbers, balls, half new screws and nuts, completely cleaned playfield and everything, redid the police car because he had the belt installed wrong (but it was working), new pop caps, new bulbs in various places, now all led, all fixed, rebuilt flippers, new flipper bats (old ones were nasty) 100s of % better than it was...

New issue below, though...

#678 1 year ago

Has anyone installed new ramps and found that the ball doesn't drop from behind the police car any longer? There feels like some roughness and an edge to the metal piece there now especially compared to the old one... And the ball just sits there most times.

I heard back from starship. Sticker was supposed to be on the ramp when I got it, there appears to be some question about that so I provided pictures. They've never had an issue with the ball sticking on the police car ramp, I'm told. Just me. So I shimmed the outside of the ramp with a washer, you can't even tell, and they fall free now. Sigh.

I need a new jackpot display this one has one spot that's flickering, probably order both it and the main display from xpin and thats it... This turd cannot be polished any further without a playfield and I'm not doing it.

The target spinner is done, pic below, will have them up for sale soon.

Probably should sell this game to free up space. I paid $2400 for it and spent $650 on it so far.

Torn down to PF
Cleaned everything
Repaired gi connector in back box
Installed new legs, levelers and leg protectors
New ramps
New leds
new rubbers
New rubber posts
new flipper bats
rebuilt flippers
All new plastics
New firing range target spinner and disc
New star posts
New small posts
New balls
New glass

Unsure how long this takes everyone else but I'm 18 hours in, but that does include designing and prototyping the spinner and looking up and ordering parts and sourcing a new decal supplier for the target spinner.

Still a lot of $ and time for a game that I overpaid for to begin with.

Anyway, it's done except for the display, if someone wants it, I'll list it, but I'm sure nobody does lol.

So, one last thing, do I remove the hat advertisement and recover/re-decal the apron on this thing or leave it as is?

Ordered the new displays from xpin. Sigh. I can't help it, I can't leave stuff not entirely done. Lol

Will have original score display, which works 100% available, also have outer ramp available and some of the og plastics are workable if someone needs any of this.

I'd just leave as is since its original.

#687 1 year ago

Starship says the decal on my outer ramp, under the police car, should have been applied from the factory under the riveted bracket and they don't know why the balls stick in it (before I shimmed it up) so they are replacing the whole ramp, which is strong of them and also is shit-ton of work for me taking this whole thing back apart to replace it, again. Bleh.

#688 1 year ago

I agree. Gonna do just that. Will print some new cards and that's it.

Xpin stuff arrived today. Super fast shipping. Took about 20 minutes and then other 20 minutes to get the upper display to be angled correctly, it was wrong when I got this thing. All done, SOOO much brighter and sharper and WORKING! LOL

Latest decal version:

left is old, unacceptable one, middle is new, I think workable one, right is oem.

Thoughts?

Finishing up a police force and need some insight as I've never played one before this.

Car goes up and down in test. Limit switches register. The right ramp ball one lock insert is lit.

At the start of game the car goes up to the top. If you hit the right ramp the ramp entrance switch registers. Then the ball goes around and there is a switch in the curve before the car and it registers.

Then the game will hold, go into ball search, and once the car goes down to release the ball from the ramp it will go back up.

Am i missing a switch? I am assuming the ball should lock behind the car and a new ball should go in the shooter lane.

The switch test is not always 100% correct. I have seen switches with the pink quick connectors act up during a game but still work in test. I cut off the pink connector and solder wire directly to the switch, and then it works perfectly. I would do this to all the ramp switches and then test it for multiball.

I deleted it as i figured it out. The wireform switch and ramp switch are the same colors and connector. I had them swapped.

Have had almost 150 games. Ive replaced bad pins in a connector but never found a reason to remove them.
