Williams, 1989If I replace the center ramp in Police Force with a new reproduction, should I still protect it with Cliffy's or are the new plastics strong enough on their own? The ramp is pricey enough on by itself and I'd prefer not adding light blocking "armor" if it's no longer needed. Of course, I don't want to spend the money to replace the ramps only to break it again, either.
This particular machine will be home play only for now, so pretty limited play.
Better safe than sorry. I have a new ramp for my police force as well, but won’t install it until my cliffy’s arrive.
I put in a new ramp without protection. Left side cracked in about 300 plays.
I made up a stainless protector myself because I did not know they were available.

Sorry to hear that, but thanks for the response. 300 plays doesn't cut it and definitely means I'll be adding the protectors with the new ramp.
I'm normally a "better safe than sorry" thinker especially when it comes to a part that's a significant portion of the value of the game. Was just hoping the new formulation of plastics would be strong enough on it's own. Not worth the risk, clearly. Thanks!
