Looks awesome! I will have to seriously consider getting this!
Quoted from Mudflaps:Gotta ask... Pro model compatible?
Edit: Never mind... saw your latest post. sigh
Pro is coming, just havn't got to it yet.
Thanks to all for the kind words.
We spent a tremendous amount of time developing this product (in fact, we’re still working on the video editing software now – so the work continues). This was certainly our most ambitious MOD yet as it does twice as much as its predecessor, the CFTBL LCD MOD. I’d also like to point out that this project would never have come to fruition without the amazing efforts of both PinSider oga83 and Rusty. Those guys are absolutely amazing; wait until you see our next LCD MOD
Quoted from PinballMikeD:wait until you see our next LCD MOD
and what game would that be for? You can trust me with the secret.
I'm sure your not selling the videos right? You are only selling the hardware. I'm sure you know about Intellectual Property right?

I sure we all don't really care right. Great job mike will be ordering mine soon

Simply can't wait for the announcement.
Great job Mike! Can't wait for this one, I have changed up all my songs so I'm loving the you tube videos and plug and play.

When you want to change any of the video/image files, just open the coin door and pull the USB drive out. Copy your files over, pasting them into the appropriate folders on the USB drive, and plug the USB drive back in.
Then turn your game back on and you're ready to go

Quoted from smassa:Do you have a date on when these will be available?
I'm waiting on the serial to USB communication cables, should be here in another week or so. Then we are sending out a few units for beta testing (those folks have already been selected). We'll incorporate their feedback and then we'll start shipping units out to folks on the waiting list. This gives us some more time to play with the video editing software, tweaking it to include more features (fade in/outs, text overlays, etc.). I'd say we are probably 3 to 4 more weeks out. Sorry for the delay, but it will be worth it in the end
OH POOP! I went by your earlier post and was under the impression that you were just going to drop them on your site when ready! I've been refreshing your site a few times a day with $$$ in hand and ready to buy. I just emailed to get on that waiting list. Hopefully I can get one of the first batch still.

Mike few questions...
1. Will videos be downloadable from other sites (Vimeo) and other sources?
2. Can the video be synced with the ball plunge so lyrics can match the video as best as possible?
3. Will there be videos shipping with the mod for each song?
Those are my three biggies for now. Can't wait to get this. Amazing work.

1) Currently our software only supports uploading source videos from YouTube. I’m not sure what would be required to emulate this functionality for Vimeo, but we can look into it. We have several more ambitious LCD based projects currently in the works, so the more powerful, user friendly and feature rich our video editing software is the better. The goal is to have a universal software package (that works for all of our LCD based MOD’s) that can upload source files, easily edit them and render finish videos with minimal effort. The finished videos would automatically be scaled to match the LCD’s resolution for the specified MOD (so, you’d simply specify CFTBL or ACDC when exporting).
2) The media player used to display videos/images on the MOD’s LCD screen is controlled by the Raspberry Pi. The music is still controlled directly by the pinball machine, so synchronizing the two perfectly is virtually impossible. I will say this though, I was playing “War Machine” last night and it was cool to see Phil Rudd playing in time with the pinball machine
3) The MOD will ship with generic media content, but these videos/images are intended to be “place holders.” The driving force behind all of our LCD display MODs is to provide 100% flexibility for the end user. We learned with the CFTBL MOD that not everyone likes the same thing, so we decided to create custom video editing software. This empowers the consumer and gives him/her the ability to make our MODs display whatever he/she wants. For example, I took a clip of Tim Curry as the devil in Legend (the 1985 movie) off of YouTube and use it for my mini-playfield video. So, when SR says “welcome to hell” I look up and see the devil laughing – this always makes me chuckle. The point is you can do whatever you want because it's your pinball machine.
Quoted from Spankey:1. Will videos be downloadable from other sites (Vimeo) and other sources?
We've figured out how to download videos directly from Vimeo
Now we just have to tweak the software (unfortunately that's the harder part).
This is very cool but I don't have an AC/DC but I do have a Star Trek LE and I see on your web site you have Star Trek coming soon so will their be a Interactive LCD MOD for Star Trek in the works too.

That is a topic for a different thread, but ST is in the queue for getting modded. However, like everyone else we are waiting for the new code to drop before we get carried away.

Very cool, I'll look forward to when that thread get's started. Until then let AC/DC rock.
Here's the Installation Manual for those interested (an electronic copy is included with the MOD):

The Raspberry communicates directly with the pinball machine, so we know what game modes are active. This allows us to determine which videos or images should be displayed on the LCD screen at any given time. This is accomplished by using pinball browser in conjunction with a patch specific to this MOD. You take your .BIN file (assuming it is based on v1.65 of the game code) and modify it using the patch. I’ll post a step-by-step YouTube video of how to do this, it’s very easy though. Anyway, if you’ve already changed songs or DMD images the patch shouldn’t change any of those alterations.
"YOU" can put whatever licensed media content you want on "YOUR MOD." All you have to do is take any .AVI or .MOV video file (our MOD supports all of the common codecs like DivX, H.264, etc.) and put it in the desired folder on the MOD’s 16GB USB drive. The folder names match the game modes, so the video you put in the “Back in Black” folder will be played when the “Back in Black” song is active during game play.
Our MOD is programmed to automatically scale videos real time to accommodate the LCD screen’s resolution. So, you don’t even have to use our video editing software to format the videos. You just put whatever you want on the USB and it will play in conjunction with the game mode. Our software just gives you the ability to further customize your MOD, providing you with the ability to:
(1) Download any videos directly from YouTube or Vimeo
(2) Scale YOUR “drain” and “song select” images (whatever you want to use) to match the LCD screen’s resolution
(3) Edit base videos for a more professional look.
The software allows you to add custom overlays (many ACDC song title text overlays are included with the software), loop videos, specify start and stop times, splice videos, etc. The software is basically a simplified windows version of iMovie. FYI – we are working on a MAC compatible version as well. However, you don't need to use the software to play videos on the MOD. Make sense?
I forgot to mention that we are working on some custom “song title text” overlays for the video editing software (song titles in squealer font on a transparent background). I know many of you have already used pinball browser to replace certain songs. So, what songs do you want text overlays for? Here's the list so far:
01. Hells Bells
02. You Shook me All Night Long
03. Rock 'n Roll Train
04. Back In Black
05. Thunderstruck
