Better late than never…just found a Mike D mod. It’s amazing. It’s loaded and works. I wanted to upgrade my pin back to 1.7 code and followed the instructions here with the latest version of pinball browser, but cannot seem to locate the comm140.hex file for the patch. Does this no longer exist? I’m sure user error on my end. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The comm140 error sounds like an issue with the Pinball-Browser app. If your using the Pinball-Browser app loaded on the SD card, tt probably needs upgraded. That issue was fixed a while ago. Head over to the Pinball-Browser app and/or contact oga83

PS. Make sure you update the Stern code with your pinball serial number in Pinball-Browser before creating the image.

Here’s the answer (confirming it works): The file is no longer needed.
Just install the communication patch with the "Sam" tab / "Comm Patch" button
or use the following macro : LoadHex,"pb:/Sam/comm.hex"

i made backup copies of my cards, if someone want to pay shipping and replacement costs for the sd and usb drives, I will ship these out.
