Well if it would have been off, I would have given it 3 thumbs up.
Quoted from Captive_Ball:Bump...any updates?
Waiting on parts. Adding some additional programming features in the mean time.
Quoted from Captive_Ball:Thanks for the update
Here's a look at the final circuit board mounting panel design:

I know, it isn't super exciting.... But it does prove we're working on the MOD

You are right.
It is beyond super exciting.
Quoted from msj2222:I would like mine first, This is something Stern should have done in the first place.
Dude, that avatar is hilarious. Too funny.

Thanks, now get to work and stop looking at avatars....we are waiting!

^^In for a MET version^^

Not sure MET would look good with an LCD, no obvious place to put one? FYI - the screws are for mounting the LCD screen protector (don't want an air ball to hit the screen). See below:

When people raise the playfield without removing the balls from the trough, that screen is where the balls are going to hit. Better make sure it can take a three foot dead drop or include some sort of automatic stopper for the ball trough. Just saying. Also, I would pay extra for cables that let me use the dancing band as a topper...
Good work so far. Can't wait to see the final product.
Quoted from PinballMikeD:For father's day my daughter offered to help with some continuity testing.

Great picture...and she's probably better with the DMM then I am.

Right on both counts.
Quoted from Thunder424:Great work. Any chance you could find screws with black painted heads? Would blend in much more.
I already bought all the hardware.
I don't think the screws will look out of place once the window is installed. Plus, the screen will always be displaying something, so the screw heads won't be the focal point. The screws will match all the other ones on the playfield for a factory look.

We're not using the "band" solenoid connection for the MOD, so all you need is a jumper cable to move the band to the top of the backbox. It's a nice idea though John. Maybe we can build a bigger "dancing band" for a future topper?
Quoted from Tmezel:Yes the band is run by a 3 pin molex connector to power the solenoid.
OK, I just looked at it. I have the parts on hand to build that.
There might be money for a mod builder to make a cable, mounting and lighting kit to make this happen.

Interesting...

Watch out you got him thinkin about it, you know what that means.....another great mod commin.

Great idea, but the band should be bigger and proportionate with the backbox. The dancing band is roughly one foot long, too small for a topper don't you think?
screws - easy fix if it bugs anyone. Pull them out. Put them in some cardboard to hold them steady. Get out the black spray paint and go to town
Update:
We are currently putting the finishing touches on the programming (which is based on V1.65 of the game code – currently this MOD is only for Premium and LE machines) and should have several beta units out for testing within the next 2 weeks - you guys know who you are
We are still working on the video editing software, so it will probably be a few more weeks before the software is available. I shoot some video this week and start working on the installation manual as well.
Here is a list of the ACDC MOD V1.0 interactive features:
1) Attract video – plays when the game is in attract mode
2) Song videos – each of the 12 songs featured in the game have their own video modes
3) Song Select – This is a static image that displays when the player is selecting a song from the juke box
4) Drain images – These are static images that are displayed after a ball drains (nice fun taunting comments about your flipper skills)
5) Mini playfield video – plays when the mini playfield is active
6) Encore video – plays when the encore mode is active
Like the CFTBL MOD, ACDC will utilize a USB drive to store all of the various images and videos displayed on the LCD screen. Also, we have programmed the MOD so you can have multiple video/images per interactive mode. For example, you can have 10 different “attract” videos stored on the USB. The MOD will simple cycle through your 10 different videos, playing a new one every time you go into attract mode until all 10 videos have been played. The USB is easily accessible. We’ve modeled our design off of JJP’s WOZ setup, so the USB will be plugged into an extension cable located right next to the coin box. You just pull the USB out and change video/images as you like – very easy.
The video editing software will be very similar to the CFTBL MOD’s software. It will allow you to: download videos directly off of YouTube, loop, resize, rotate, crop, specify start and stop times for video trimming, video splicing, and more. We are currently working on adding a text overlay feature, using the Squealer (aka ACDC) font as well as a static image tool. This would enable users to create their own custom “taunting drain images” or change the song name intros (for guys that have used Pinball Browser to change songs featured in the game). We are also looking into animation effects (fade in/outs, stuff like that).
The MOD includes:
1) 5” HD LCD screen
2) Powder coated screen mounting hardware
3) LCD screen protector
4) Circuit board mounting plate w/ RPi and LCD driver board
5) USB drive
6) SD Card
7) Custom game interface cabling
8) USB extension cable
9) HDMI cable
10) LCD ribbon cable
11) Game interface serial cable
The MOD is 100% reversible with no permanent alterations to the actual pinball machine.
The MOD will be available for purchase ($475 + shipping + PayPal fees) directly from our website:

I'll be ordering the remaining parts need to product the first batch this weekend, so the wait is almost over
This is THE BEST mod to EVER come out for a pinball. Makes me want to buy the game just to have this STATE OF THE ART mod on it.
Quoted from Rensh:Oh man, very great mod, looks terrific.
Are you gone attend Pinexpo chicago and show this of?
Unfortunately time is a luxury I don’t have much of these days. Between work (typically 70+ hours per week), family, and other PMD projects my free time is virtually nonexistent. I’d love to hit all the pinball shows, but it just never seems to work out with all my other obligations. I’m going to make an accretive effort to get to Texas next year though
