My niece, Samantha Jordan from New Jersey, was selected as a finalist for the Axelrod Awards which honors high school theater kids. The winner is based upon the number of votes they receive from the public.
Some background: Samantha’s favorite artists include Stevie Nicks, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash and Sutton Foster. She has been actively performing onstage and in clubs for the last five years. Her free time is spent writing music, playing piano, acting and volunteering in the pediatric ward at her local hospital. Unlike her uncle, she is an A student, and more importantly, a really good kid. As an aside, her favorite pinball machines are Elvira and the Party Monsters and AC/DC. And like all of the other high school seniors from the Class of 2020, her school play, prom and graduation were all canceled due to the coronavirus.
