Well that giant Creature topper is inarguably "In 3-D"!

    It seemed appropriate.

I generally don't get it. I have never bought or added a topper to a game. I think it's cool if it came with the game originally and it's interactive, but I don't get paying big money in the aftermarket for an inert piece of plastic with some lights. If you are just trying to fill the space with art, you could probably buy something nicer for a lot less. It seems like people will pay thousands for a shitty looking figure if it's marketed as a pinball topper, but snub their noses at a much better looking figure if it originally had nothing to do with pinball. They are fine, but I don't think they add much value to the game.

I have Stern Official Toppers on any of my machines that they made them for. The others have after market toppers and my own spin on top. It is a well known secret in the Pinball world that all toppers make your pinball scoring higher by a minimum of 35%. That is an undisputed fact!! If you don't have toppers, your scores likely suck balls (pinballs that is). Sorry.

Honestly, I just like the way they look with a nice topper. My fave is lace, generally in purple, black or white. Sometimes green if its a redhead. The topper doesn’t stay on forever, but definitely adds to the experience IMO.

This can't even be debated... the studies prove it. But now can someone please explain their arcade marquee fetish?

Lot of topper negativity here... Not sure why but okay, to each their own...

I have them on all of my games, one poster made the point that once you start getting them other games look odd without one. I couldn't agree more with that. The cost is an "is what it is" kind of a thing. I don't mind paying what it costs but I can easily see why some would decline.

FWIW the JJP POTC CE topper is my favorite in my collection (at least until Halloween shows up)...

I am a topper appreciator, as long as is not a flat sheet of acrylic with a decal on it and 2 lights behind it. My Doctor Who Dalek, lights up to the voices in the sound track and I have animated it with the Mark Davidson kit.

    Same here.
My wife is great about keeping the glass clean, but as far as the top of the head goes it ain’t happening until I fold the head down when we’re rearranging.
I normally don’t say shit because I like vagina.

I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s like everything else with this hobby - it gets in your blood! I have toppers on my machines. There was a time when I said I would never spend $200-$300 on a topper. Now fast forward 5 years, I just bought the stadium topper for my GnR. If my wife found out how much it was, two things would likely happen. First, she would probably kick my ass (no, not really, she would just shake her head), but for sure it would cost me double what I spent on the topper to make it right!
