I had noticed this earlier but finally got out a straightedge to check and, yep, the playfield on my Sea Ray is bowed, lower in the center than the edges. The playfield is in otherwise nice shape, so I suppose it's just the effects of time over the last 45 years.

Are there any recommended ways to try and straighten this? I thought about screwing a piece of oak to the bottom and slowly tightening the outside screws over the course of a couple weeks, but there's really nowhere to put one.

I used a piece of angle iron to try to level a playfield I have. It helped, but isn't strong enough to completely flatten it without bowing itself. Here's a thread where I have some pictures and a description of what I did...
