    Playfield Swaps

    Added: 2021-04-25 21:29:07 UTC • Ended: April 27th, 2021

    Price

    $ 750

I am slowing down on how many I do but had some cancellations so have some time to get one or two done in the next few months.

Performing playfield swaps for Bally Williams System 1, WPC, WPC95 and newer along with Stern and JJP. Older titles please contact me first. I also will do extensive shop jobs that entail a full tear down of the entire playfield and rebuild. Pricing starts at $750 for a bare bones swap. Full "real" shop jobs that remove everything from the top and rebuild/replace worn on the bottom side depends on the title. Please contact me.

Hardtops: I will do these if you prepare/clear the playfield for it. I'm not set up to paint or to do a proper sanding.

My typical swap is a full tear down of every part and assembly including cleaning and polishing of small parts. You provide the playfield and the parts you want swapped. I'll tear down and advise of what is found broken including pictures. There's always something broken! Wear parts like coil sleeves, switches and related get replaced. I generally recommend getting new wooden side rails, plastics and ramps when they're available. Cleaning of all harnesses. Other details such as coil wrappers, mods, LED's, etc can be added. Prices range from $750-1000+ depending on what is done, etc. I can provide the parts or you can.

Most of my swaps and shops are documented here on Pinside. Here are a few:

I know you can see for yourself in the attached threads, but the work done is top notch. Deal with confidence...

    #3 2 years ago

The Pricing on this is very fair !

    #4 2 years ago

Posting to mark this. Want to do a sorcerer swap with all new parts, but dont have time.

    #5 2 years ago

Pricing fair. Lots of risk for the swapper. One wrong long underside screw foing through clear and profits lost.

    #6 2 years ago

    System *11*

And you do phenomenal work. This seems cheap hah.

He is only doing swaps with Reproduction playfields as per his email to me.

    #9 2 years ago

Correct. I wouldn’t trust doing an original. And I guess the joke is on me.

You admit you knew I had an original playfield restored.
You should have told me that you only use Repros a year ago? Why leave me hanging and pretend that you will do my swap when you get time?

    #12 2 years ago

You want me to swap a playfield and then you bash me. I'm glad I didn't take it on. Instablock!

[Removed]. I wanted you to do a swap, then told you what I thought of you after you gave me the run around for a year.

Are Kruzman playfields all repros and not too risky?

    #14 2 years ago

dmacy has done 2.5 swaps for me, and his work is incredible. Excellent communication, super detail oriented, and just a super awesome and stand up guy. Absolutely deal with confidence.

    #15 2 years ago

dmacy does incredible work. I have a Bad Cats he did, the Avatar in the pictures above is mine, my buddy owns the Whirlwind in the link above and I used to own a Tommy he did.

    All done beautifully.

Great price, wish you were closer!

Steal of a deal for sure!

    #18 2 years ago

Dave don’t worry this joker the Da-wasa a.k.a. Dave came to look at one of my games with jewelers glasses checking out the playfield you’re wise to steer clear of him.

    #19 2 years ago

Good deal for sure but be prepared for additional expenses (flipper rebuilds, plastic set, etc etc)

Those charges are clearly stated in this ad.

how do people typically get you the playfield to swap? I never shipped just a playfield before, do most people just drop it physically off?

    #23 2 years ago

Hey thanks to almost everyone. Maybe someone had a bad day or year. I know I’m tired of the current events and my ass has had it up to here.

    Quoted from Oneangrymo:

Yes it’s not really a shipping type thing. I’ve done shipping a few times where someone shipped a game and had it picked up but we worked together before. Many times someone will bring the entire cab over and we take the playfield out together and they restore the cabinet while I do the swap. When they come back we test it out and make sure it’s all working and if not I fix it.

The price is fair and people know I don’t do this for a living. It’s beer money and I work at a comfortable pace on my time. I enjoy doing this and find it relaxing. Most people are cool with that.

Yes I will swap almost any repro and certainly something from Ron or Neo too. If you have some Uber rare NOS playfield I would shy away as I couldn’t replace it. If you’re like my creepy ex girlfriend, I will avoid you too.

    Happy Monday!

Man I wish you lived closer I would just get all my machines playfield swapped haha.

    #25 2 years ago

I’m sure someone near you does it. There’s a lot of people that do them.

Like dmacy states....plenty of people do it just a matter of finding someone locally. If you're not to overly concerned about money then paying to ship the playfields is an option.

Anyone who thinks that the price (no matter who one pays to do a swap) includes parts is sadly mistaken. Sometimes you get pf that need no additional parts while as others needs a deluge of parts. Best to always ask up front about additional cost whether be parts, supplies (you'd be surprised at what cleaning and polishing supplies alone cost) etc.

As the disagreement was a private matter, it was disrupting the thread, so the warning was issued since it didn't belong in a public thread.

You are both free to continue the discussion privately if you so choose, but if you have each other on ignore, then it seems the conversation will end there.
