I'm in the process of swapping out the playfield in my Eight Ball Deluxe with a new CPR reproduction playfield. The old playfield is painted grey or primed on the bottom, but the new one is bare wood. Should I be painting or priming the bottom or leave it bare?

I left mine bare.

#3 2 years ago

I would leave it as is.

#4 2 years ago

Well ended up painting it, because I'm kind of anal about that kind of thing

Lots of work for sure but getting there!

I'd pay more attention to your mechs.

It’s good to get you ground braid stapled before anything else at this point. It will become hard to reach with stapler.

Not the ground, but couldn't agree more. That gets annoying real quick.

Agreed.

All components are mounted and first test fire up went well. One short that I found quickly and a few wires that came off some light sockets that I had to solder back on. Overall I'm very happy with how it went. Need to adjust a few switches and finish mounting some items including the plastics. I'll post some pictures in a few days.

Not quite done but getting there. Ignore the dust, I had just drilled some holes and hadn't cleaned up yet.
