Hi,

I have a High Speed that is in relatively good shape but the playfield needs work, namely a couple of spots that are worn down to the bare wood. It's going to be a while before I can devote enough time to working on it, so my question is what to do about it in the meantime. I want to be able to play the pin but I don't want to cause any further damage. Would you recommend that I leave the bare spots as they are, or maybe prime them for now? Or apply some kind of coating that I can remove later when I redo the playfield?

Thanks very much.

Greg,

Not sure about your funds, but CPR has a high speed playfield run coming. Supposedly in the next 2-3 months ready for shipping. I'm pretty sure like all their playfields it will come clearcoated.

You could airbrush the existing playfield if you are capable of doing so? Or if you aren't concerned with the look of the playfield, just stoping the erosion, grab some sheet mylar and an xacto

Hey, thanks for the reply! Yeah, I don't particularly care if the playfield looks a little goofy for now so I thought I would just put some white primer over the bare spots. The mylar idea might be the best way to go though. And thanks for the tip about the new playfields coming. I'll check it out.

Cheers!

Put the Mylar down for now.

Don't put primer down and make a possible disaster for future restoration.
