I've read different threads about Lexan / Poly playfield protectors. They are all basically the same, someone installed a protector, then people comment on it, then it fades away.
One question that has been asked in most or all threads is -

Does dirt and grit get under the protector, and ruin the playfield underneath?

I haven't seen an answer to this question yet. So to the people who have installed a protector. After some time has passed, how dirty does it get under the protector? And does it dig into the original finish?
