Okay, so you may have seen my nightmare on vids thread. My plan is to persevere and see how it turns out, but as a back up I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that can make custom overlays. I have been sent scans of the entire playfield by a very kind pinside member and can use stitching software to fix them together. Has anyone used a particular company to make up an overlay from scans? If so, what was the process and cost?

    Many thanks,

    Tom

I had an overlay made by a chain sign company for my Bally Space Invaders. I explained what I needed as far as opaqueness and size and they actually did a decent job. Was about $75 for the overlay and $35 for the in house digital artist to do some corrections. I was very happy with the look but the performance was sadly lacking. (The ball moved sluggishly.) I fixed that by doing an acrylic overlay which made it play like a dream. The other downfall was that all the inserts were white. More info can be seen on my "Cowboys vs Aliens" thread.
