Does any of your playfields have a bunch of small dimples all over? My BSD does...I can understand the planking issue due to weather changing and whatnot - but why does this happen?
i've never seen that before, would you mind putting up pictures? is there any way to protect a playfield against "planking" or "dimpling"? sounds bad!
Are you sure its not from the ball bouncing on it over time. drop a ball on a piece of wood and look at what kind of mark it makes. Over time, repeated "bounces" of the ball could have this effect on a playfield.
Is the climate your machine in usually the same temp. Or is it in a garage that sees one extreme to another.
I know my garage gets up to around 113 degrees f in the summer with super high humidity. To -4 degrees f in the winter. This would really screw with the paint/electronics/playfield/inserts....everything.
45 deg c
-20 deg c for those who know metric system. This is why I keep my pins in the house.
its pretty uniform all around - I'll take some pics later. I've only owned the game for a few months so I don't think its anything I did. It's not really that bad and you have to be looking for it.
My Star Wars has it. Kind of looks like hail damage.
From what I understand it is from too much moisture. Mine was stored in a container in Guam for a year and went thru at least one hurricane.
Keep the playfield waxed and try to control the humidity/temp swings.
