Anyone have a Sorcerer, Comet, or Shuttle they can peak at the player start button. Should it be grounded? I have a ground that is suspiciously within reaching distance of the metal disc plate that the player start is centered in, but screwed directly into the cabinet wood (e.g. into nothing). I spy some pictures (associated with LED modding) of the player starts in some earlier Williams that appear to have a ground, but want to make sure for a system 9 game.

No, do not ground the start (credit) button, it is part of the switch matrix and you'll have problems if you ground it.
All three of those games get white/orange wire for the row, and green/brown wire is the column (#3 switch in the switch matrix)

Ok. That is the opposite of what I expected. But tx for highlighting the switch Matrix connection.

Your welcome. As a side note, the diagnostic switches in the coin door are not a part of the switch matrix. Advise to get a manual with schematics, and learn your way around your machine for the future.
