I got a new to me Playboy that has a -35 board with some corrosion. I removed the corrosion using some toilet bowl cleaner and now it looks pretty good. I would like to learn how to repair this and I am hoping that someone could advise me on the direction needed to make this board work again. As of now the only thing that the board will do is to flicker with 2 flashes which I think means that there is a ram problem (5101 maybe at U8?) since it didn't flash for the 3rd time.

That link is just the socket, you will need the IC as well.

The symptoms you describe sound like a bad 5101 chip or socket. I'd suggest putting in an nvram.

Excellent trouble shooting

I had the same problem with EBD. Bought a nvram 5101 and it booted up no problem.
