Hey guys, I discovered the video today. It is basically a play-dough like material that makes hard plastics.

Here is the website: http://www.plastimake.com

I can see this being insanely useful in repairing and replacing plastics. I know many people who own a Data East Hook Machine, such as myself, talk about the difficulty in replacing plastics, and I think Plastimake is a great alternative. I think one would be able to even mold new plastics with this, though I'm not certain. Ive never tried it before. I just thought Id bring this to everyones attention.

Wonderful Product, I have been using for years!

My favorite is to heat up and form over a Flasher Dome.

While its warm I pull off, and it hardens into that shape.

I then gently heat again.

From there, I push and pull, and have made snow covered flashers for WH2O

Flame looking ones...whatever you like!

Cool stuff, and worth playing with.

I have had some successful repairs using it too...and my wife and kids use it all the time!

One of the best qualities, is the one posted by Op.

It goes by a few name brands (like polymorph), but it's generic name is Polycaprolactone (low melt plastic)

Been around since the late 70's:

There's also sugru, which is a moldable rubber-like material:

That sounds awesome! Do you have any pics?

Not to be a downer, but how toxic is this stuff?

#6 8 years ago

On their website and stated in the video.

"Plastimake is non-toxic, super-strong, reusable, lightweight and biodegradable."

but who really knows unless we test it our self.

Not a great picture, but if you zoom in on the mountains, all the Red flasher caps are gone, and are no fitting snow caps.
When warm, I molded and pulled, so it was a great custom fit! If I did it wrong, Id put back in hot water, and redo!
