    plasma is the best TV technology, with high-end plasmas being the best of the best. consumer preference towards lighter-weight, lower energy consumption, and much larger adoption of LCD technology in general killed them, but Plasma is unmatched.

    I'm very sensitive to the soap opera effect (some people don't notice it), which plasma does not suffer from. With OLEDs you still have to choose between either the soap opera effect or motion blur, with plasma you don't. I have yet to see an OLED TV that doesn't have this issue. Indeed, I haven't even seen a manufacturer put a dedicated button to switch motion smoothing on/off on the remote yet.
