Quoted from Baggerman:Greetings.
As I shop for my first pin, I am planning the transport to location in my home and I have a narrow door to pass through. Looking at a remake or vault edition pin, and am concerned about clearance. My question is, pin dimensions. Is the body narrower then head? If Stern lists dims as 55 x 29 x 77 is the width of 29 for the head unit or body? Can a newer remake pin allow backbox or head removal??
Thank you .

I have a similar situation, with two doors that a pin will not fit through with the head on. The 29" width is the head, with the cabinet being about 22" wide. My method is to load the pin on the lift cart, remove the legs (they are pretty wide at the bottom) remove the 6 bolts securing the head to the side hinges, raise the head up on a piece of 2x4 to serve as a pivot and to give room for the cables to move, and then rotate it, being careful of the cabling. You may need a helper to hold the head steady for the trip. I have done this with everything from old Williams to JJP games without issue. Good luck and have fun with your first shop job - take LOTS of pictures!
