I don't venture into DC proper very much (traffic), so I can't answer about the city proper. However, I would strongly recommend checking out the Mom's organic market in College Park (inside the beltway). Maybe 40 machines, mostly new, including most Jersey Jacks and Sterns built in the past 10 years. It is in the left hand side of the store behind a curtain. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/pinball-parlor-at-moms-organic-market

I would also recommend taking the drive to Crabtowne USA in Glen Burnie. They have 30-40 mostly vintage machines, with a few new Sterns. If you want local seafood it is a great place to go and they have a retro arcade. http://www.crab-towne.com/arcade-games/

Vuk, a Pizza joint in Bethesda is worth checking out. 12ish mostly new Sterns.

    Perfect timing!

There's a big pinball event, Pinball for the People, at Lyman's Tavern tonight at 8:30 -- https://www.facebook.com/events/371501096971240/

from yesterday's Washington Post -- Tuesday, April 9

Pinball for the People at Lyman’s Tavern: Ever wondered who the people are behind the insanely high scores on pinball machines? The 14th Street bar has become the city’s pinball capital for players of all stripes to come out and play. This monthly event is organized specifically for novices to get a steady stream of games and hone their skills — maybe you’ll even learn a few tips from the wizards in the field who will be playing for fun. Players will be grouped in threes or fours and play a rotating selection of games — the player with the lowest score gets to choose which machine they play next. 8:30 p.m. Free; bring quarters for individual games.

    VUK
    and
Lyman’s are the 2 absolute best places near the city. Lymans’ is in DC proper, and is a great dive bar. VUK is in a suburb in Maryland but still close
