I'll be in Newport, Rhode Island for a couple of days next week. Any good places to play pinball? Google isn't turning up much... just a few bars and restaurants that might have a single pin... but I need my fix while I'm away from home!

Thanks in advance.

Bump. Since now I'm the one in Newport.

I already cleared out the leaderboard on the Doctor Who at the Mariott, and I spent a couple hours on the Who Dunnit at the slots. Anywhere else to play around here?

I suppose I should mention that I found a Fish Tales today at the Naval Station bowling alley. Added it to the map. And I really do suck at this pin. Two hours spent and I barely broke 100million. Guess I should go read up on some strategy.

Well, I found out why I suck so bad -- the eject hole is broken and the third ball was permanently stuck in there. No fish finder awards, and only two-ball multiball. No wonder my score was low.

To further my conversation with nobody else but myself on this thread, I suppose I should mention that I called up the maintenance number on the bottom of one of the pins here in Newport, and I asked the maintenance guy where all the pins were. So here is as definitive a list as I think there is:

Grand Slots: Who Dunnit
Courtyard Marriott: Dr. Who
Island 10 Cinemas: Spider-Man
Howard Johnson: Pool Sharks
Panini's Grill: Johnny Mnemonic
Newport Naval Station: Fish Tales

Interestingly, Ryan's Family Amusements on Thames street -- the only full arcade in Newport -- doesn't have a single pinball machine in it. Fortunately, Panini's Grill is two blocks north.

Hello. (Didn't want you to feel lonely.)

Ryan's Family Amusements used to have a bunch of pins way back when (they were on the second floor) I played Whirlwind and Earthshaker for the first time there in 91.

There are rumors that a pinball bar is opening soon in Providence.

This would be really cool if true.

Speaking of Ryan's F/A I remember playing Eight Ball Champ there in the
fall of '85 along with a few other pins.
