Pardon my terminology...I tipped my playfield back to work on it today and noticed a screw had fallen out of the bracket that holds in the right pivot pin "for lack of a better word" to the playfield. When I went to put the screw back in it seems as though the wood underneath is stripped. What is the best way to affix this pin securely back to the playfield? The same thing has happened to one of the front prop bars that are used to raise the playfield just a little.

Well depending how big the screw is you could take some toothpicks stick them in the stripped hole and break them off flush with the cabinet. When you add the toothpicks add a dab of wood glue to them and then once dry screw it back in.

As for the pin I would need to see a pic of it

The first photo is the pivot pin without the bottom screw. The second photo is the front prop bar that's still on the playfield. It's wobbly and I really can't trust it.

Just as Kcpinballfan wrote should be fine. Skewers also work great too.

That's a Data East game. The pivot pins are held in by machine screws in t-nuts, not wood screws.

The t-nut under the side rail may be bad, or you may be trying to use a tapered wood screw.

With the playfield up, unscrew the other remaining screw from the pivot pin to see what type you need.

These loosen up on DE playfields a lot - one of the main reasons they can fall into the cabinet and trash the flipper board mounted on the cabinet left side.

Right on. Thanks. It is indeed a Data East, a JP I'm fact. I'll try that tomorrow. Also, I'll try the toothpick trick for the other supports. Thanks again. You guys rock!
