    PGH,

I fix games locally and have had a Funhouse myself. Would be more than happy to help. Resets are a common WPC issue, but rarely resolved correctly. PM me.

    Quoted from MJW:

Wish I could help you with a name. I've had a few people over the years come over when I got stuck. Neither was able to fix my issues. Seems like there is not a really good tech in the pittsburgh area that ki know of. If there is I hope someone provides info. Guys are charging $90.00 per hour for home visits and can't fix the problems. If it wasn't for the info and advice I find on Pinside most of my games would be down.

There is some truth to this. However, there are some VERY good techs in the area (there had better be for the insane amount of pinball we have in this city!). I think the reason many fly "under the radar" as unknowns is simply because good quality work on repairs and "shopping" takes time. Many of us have other full time jobs and there is constant work from repeat clients who may have many machines.

You are also correct that many issues are self-serviceable, and I always try to encourage my clients to become self sufficient for typical issues, and show them how I resolved an issue if they are interested in learning. However, there are still many collectors who just want to play their machines and are happy to pay to have them fixed. The key word is "fixed". No one should pay upwards of $100 an hour and end up in no better (or in some cases WORSE) shape than before they called a technician.
