What kind of food do you like and what do you want to do while you are here? Play pinball or visit places like museums. That will help narrow it down since you are only here one day. Also, which direction are you coming from and what time are you arriving/leaving. If you are coming on a weekend then I would stay away from somewhere like the strip district since it gets very crowded.
