I'm trying to come up with some kind of solution for replacing the rubber strip that surrounds the perimeter of a couple of old ('49, '52) williams pitch and bats that I picked up recently. I think I'm looking for something with similar rebound characteristics to black playfield rubber. In other words, a little bit harder than standard playfield rubber rings. Not having any background in materials science, I don't know how to interpret technical specs, but this is an option I'm considering. Neoprene makes me think wetsuits and ankle braces, but apparently solid neoprene is a bit more dense (it's hardness is rated at 60 degrees, shore A, but uh, I got no clue what that means...)

For 17 bucks a roll, I may just give it a go.
Thank in advance for any insights,
Matt
