Just wanted to see if there were any other suggestions to fix the issue listed above - i have exactly the same problem, in a game i just purchased and shopped out - it came off site so have no idea of the history

ie: Sails lower perfectly during test mode 100% of the time, however at the start of multiball in a game (when the sails flick up and back before the ship sinks), they do not go down, and they bind against the clear plastics. Note: sails also lower perfectly when you get to 'destroy sails' - it is only JUST before the ship actually sinks they do not go down

Home switch works when the ship is home

Sunk ship switch works when ship is sunk

Neither switch is stuck on

There was a break in the wire to the coil that drops sails, i soldered these back together

Coil resistance is 20 ohms for drop sails

Additional info - limit switches appear to be adjusted perfectly, as in ship test mode, the home switch goes off as soon as it moves off the horizontal position, and similar for the sunk position

Thanks guys - replaced both wires and soldered them at the coil - works perfectly. I would suggest the guy 4 or 5 posts up did the same thing when replacing the coil - ie: the new coil came with new wires, so they fixed the issue

Another follow up - after a few games, it still caught once. So i pulled the mechanism apart, and put a thin coat of teflon lubricant on the shafts that the sails pivot from, as well as the link that trips the sails - it looked like someone had put grease on there, which had dried out. Once cleaned, it worked perfectly and consistently
