Beer girls doesn't really sound like top priority. Massage girls? Is this a pinball show or casino?
I personally don't need a ''girl'' serving me a beer or a massage, do you want to have private side room with velvet curtain next?

If that's how you get your rocks off, so be it but the whole concept borders on unecessary stupidity.
My daughter has just started to get into pinball, my wife wants to go to this show, see how it's not really sounding like a family friendly event?

I understand trying to appeal to the guys without wives (and apparently even those with wives..) and you can't appeal to everyone, but why not see if people in this thread have a willing wife or girlfriend to serve beers to thirsty pinballers? See how that flies.

This is a great show, Gabe is a great dude, and I like the adjustments but this is sounding like a bunch of horny trolls.

    Flame away, don't really care.

    Quoted from Irishbastard:

Everyone gets offended by everything these days, I'm surprised they have not censored all the T&A on the games yet (I'm sure it's in the works in someone's head). Last year I went to my best friend's 40th bday party wearing a "F it, let's Drink" Chive t-shirt. Approx two hours in, his father in law storms up to me and demands I remove it immediately as it's offensive to the "women"...If it was any other venue I would have told him to GFY, but I obliged (As my buddy tried to kick him out lol). My wife asked me why I changed, then wanted to put the shirt on herself lol.
So yeah, Beer girls usually come as part of a promotion team, so I doubt we will see any, but if they were there and I was with my wife and daughter, my wife would not be offended..hell, she picked my buddies and I up from an all day open bar/buffet rager at Desires (Gentleman's club) once
O, btw I freaken HATE clowns(with a passion), but I won't be offended if I see them at the show

I'm not everyone, and I'm not offended by it, so you misconstrue the word ''offended'' with what I was trying to make people aware of. Some people don't need or want to go to gentleman's clubs, or have wives that are down for picking them up at one, just as some people don't hate clowns with a passion.
My point was, what are we really trying to promote here? A family show or something else? Offended has nothing to do with it, it's about taking a step back and thinking about everyone and not just yourself because you want it to be.
Gabe knows he can do what he wants, it's his canvas, I'm just one voice.

Well.....I went to the bar.....and I forget the freakin flyers at home, Doh! Did have a few Excellent female staff delivering my craft beers, and crayons for my daughter....really helped round out the experience for the evening

Odd...not many girls want crayons after they turn 21.

Which game? They're not all the same. Not that I have one, but I learned that lesson the hard way many years ago. Had a "Spiderman", and broke the glass. Got one from a "Genie", but it's wider by about 2" or so. I sold the game anyway with the "Genie" glass duct taped to the siderails!

All of the system 80 widebody glass is the same. Genie, Star Race and Circus are super wide, so their lock down bars and glass are wider than a standard widebody.

I think I'm bringing two games, just need to clean up one of them. I haven't registered either yet and I don't think they'e on the current list.
Jurassic Park (I don't think is for sale) has the chad h code, so if you haven't played on this code, it's worth it, and Fish Tales is for sale (or trade)

I am in the market for my first pin - would Pintastic be a good place for a first pin purchase? Or would it be totally overwhelming for a newbie like me?

I don't think it would be overwhelming, just set your budget and have an idea of what type of game you're looking for.

There will be some good games to buy at this show for sure, but there is not shortage of overpriced games as well, so you need to have a good eye and use common sense when purchasing. Cash in hand talks.
Don't be afraid to ask about checking the board set out, look for battery damage or burned connectors. Ask to see under the playfield, get under the hood. There are some good sellers bringing quality pins for fair prices, it's just knowing what you want and pouncing.

When in doubt, ask a staff member, they'll be happy to assist and tell you if the game is a good buy or not.

    Quoted from Whridlsoncestood:

No hate just don't have any Segas at The Sanctum to bring.

Some Segas have decent layouts but stupid rules, like shoot this shot 5 times to start a mode that's worth 300k a shot (low boring scoring) so every game you play is pretty plain/similar scores (SWT, JPLW, etc)
Early Segas, like the 4 huge dmd games are fantastic though and largely underrated. Maverick is one of my favorites, a stupidly satisfying super jackpot shot under that boat.
I've never played a Goldeneye, one is suppose to be at the show, looking forward to that one.

Just tore this apart this evening and gave it some love. I'll register it for all three days tonight. FIsh Tales is next.

    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Leave the tournament where it is. Great location and it's not in anybody's way, it's in the back of the room!
And more foot traffic for vendors is very important. I bought a funhouse apron that I never would have even seen if the tournament were back in a breakout room like before.
Crowds are a good thing. Means people are coming to the show.

I'm going to second this. The Sanctum had this spot the first year, and then it got crammed into the VIP room, it was great to have it back where it started, plus it's easy for them to get games in and out, right next to both exits, it's the perfect fit for what they run.

Pintastic flea market was pretty awesome last year, when Automated dug a little bit into their vault and brought a truck load. They had some good parts games. I was hoping they did the same this year.
