I'll be there tomorrow for the day. My brother was going to come, but he bailed so my mom said she would go instead. She loved playing in the 60s, so hopefully a few EMs will be there for her!

The show really was great. Brought my mom and nephew with me, and it was all of our first experiences at a pinball expo. I think either next year or in a few years I'll bring my Firepower with me to the show...that would be a lot of fun. Many thanks to everyone who brought their machines. It made for a wonderful time!
Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed if someone put that sort of thing on something I spent a lot of time/money on.
I'm sorry, I realized that my above comment was incomplete and made no sense!
What I meant to say was that a larger food selection would have been welcome. I realize that Sturbridge Inn isn't the Hilton, but a venue with a bar/lounge/in-house restaurant would be ideal. I realize that there was one detached from the main Inn, but it wasn't the greatest, there was no indication that it was even there, and it was inconvenient running to it in the rain.
Any thought given to another venue in the same town, perhaps?
Heck it wasn't pinball, but I was thrilled to see Final Fight there. Hadn't played a real arcade machine of it in years. Too bad it needed some work, though. Wish I could bring my Street Fighter II CE with me!
Quoted from drsfmd:You must have missed them, but there are two restaurants right in the hotel, both with good food and reasonable prices. I had a great breakfast in one on Saturday, and had dinner in the other all three nights- their calamari was fantastic. The food point of sale outside of the free play room was lousy and the prices were outrageous.
If that's the case, then better signage would be appreciated to direct people there. I truly had no idea at all! Otherwise, I loved the event. I'll be back next year.
By the way, if you want to bring a machine, what's the process for registering and such?
Child-Friendly is always a big plus I think. Especially when you have the late-night stuff separately...that way you can have the best of both worlds. If the wife (or husband) and the kids come, they can do their thing during the day, and at night you can hit the pins alone, grab a beer, an have some fun!
Quoted from dannunz:Other shows have tried the band thing and all have failed. People want to be able to talk and here the games.
I agree, a band would make things excessively noisy. Reminds me when I go to car shows sometimes. I just want to be able to peruse the cars, and it sounds like I'm at an outdoor heavy metal concert with the music blasting. You just can't enjoy what you are there for.
I'd say that perhaps some would be willing to do it if a portion were given to a charity of their (the person consigning the game) choice.
Quoted from hool10:Ok the last Pintastic video is uploading. That would be Eric Stones panel.
Unless I'm missing it, I don't see there Eric Stones video.
Sounds like some straight-up BS. I saw your truck while there, I think I parked nearby. I'm not sure how that would happen if they also actually scan the EZPasses. They only use photo ID if the tag is not present. Did you call them directly and say WTF?
Quoted from dannunz:FYI Pintastic dates have been set and moved back away from the 4th of July.
Pintastic 2018 June 28th to 30th
Keep an eye out for a direct link on our web site to book rooms new this year. Very easy.
Excellent. Already have the plan to drop vacation over that week!
