Beer Girls cool.
What about the Flea Market Tumbleweeds? Any hope or is it a list cause ?

Any pics of the beer girls yet? I mean that's certainly a determining factor in my attendance also is the site accepting free play reg yet? If so please post a hyperlink.
Quoted from dannunz:As far as I can tell people are buying 3 day VIP passes for their whole family at the same time. Lots of them, so I'm thinking they are planning a vacation around the show. The 4th of July is moving closer each year to the show and in 2019 we will be forced to move it one week back or forward. Will see how it all plays out.
You'll have to adjust like Ivan does because Mother's Day is usually lurking on the same weekend as Pinfest
Quoted from DaveH:Just booked my room for this year. If you haven't, I'd recommend taking care of it soon.
Or I could just drive 35 miles to the show
Ok you listed the beers. Now how about the beer girls !
Quoted from Gerry:But what if I get a boner during my massage.. ?
Just roll over, the chair will have one of those comfort donuts , but use at you own risk.
Quoted from dannunz:WOW 33 different vendors so far are coming to Pintastic 2017!!
Go here https://pintasticnewengland.com/links-2/ to see the amazing line up of vendors that are coming to Pintastic 2017 so far. Room is getting very tight and we still have 2 months till show time.
How about playfield glass vendors? Missed out in 2015 and Allentown pieces had a logo on them that I didn't care for.
And updates on the beer wenches please , I'm not opposed to skating above PG 13 pics either
Quoted from Irishbastard:The true meaning of "Wench" is a "young girl", "Bar Maid" etc, nothing offensive. So in theory the girls working at say, Tilted Kilt could be described as "Wenches" in old world English.
And he was asking about pf glass being available, not BG's...Will there be a vender selling pf glass?
^ this . Although Steve from Mayfair only brings some of his glasses to the show I'd be more inclined to track down Shay or Webb first.
Quoted from beelzeboob:Yep...that's certainly a picture that says, "Massachusetts."
Apparently the 200lb limit on wearing spandex is not being enforced !
Quoted from Milltown:Would people be interested in standard size tempered glass brand new .. I can bring some but don't wanna cart it around .. it would be for sale at the temple of wow ... let me know if you have interest...
Interested
Quoted from dannunz:Beer girls are not looking good at this time. If anyone has any leads send me a PM. Thanks
Sh1t not good. Flyers at local colleges maybe? Some girls stay in the area between semesters .
Re Beer Girls: I forwarded our first applicant's contact info to the person hiring . She's willing to bring us beers and she's not 250 with Leprosy , so we got that going for us .
I did not suggest beer girls initially Gabe did. I'd like a nice girl serving beers like a cocktail waitress. Did you even read the Ad posted that clearly stated family Environment?
Quoted from dannunz:I like your determination. How should the beer girl work? Will she be taking orders and bringing us beer while we play pinball?
It's your show , I only stepped up to fill a void in your initial outline. The girl or girls you hire will be dressed PG13 not like strippers so they won't offend women or children or parents. Bringing cold craft beer as you play is a nice touch. I'm just trying to help the show . I can't really drink much beer after my cancer surgery, I'm putting in my free time and effort for others. I can easily pull the ad if necessary.
Quoted from halflip87:Don't beer companies typically employ their own "brand ambassadors" to attend events like these and hand out samples? If you really want a beer girl, the companies would be the people to ask.
-Doug
Maybe Yeungling and Sam Adams do but I think for a small outfit with craft beer they may not. But I could be mistaken and if you're correct, this would alleviate some uncertainties .
I mention what do clowns, kiddie rides, and face painting have to do with a pinball show ! I'm told the show wants to get kids into the hobby. I accept Gabe's response because it's his show and I do like kids playing pinball. Then when Gabe brings in craft beer and beer girls are discussed some of the people with children are up in arms SMH
Massage girls, that's borderline but whom am I to judge .
"Do not judge, or you will be judged" Matthew 7-5
Quoted from dannunz:Pintastic has always been family oriented by day and adult oriented after 8pm. If the beer girls are their it will be after 8pm
After 8 pm is very reasonable . I like kids and I like Beer Girls I have not set foot in a Gentleman's Club in over 20 years. But I've been to a Hooters and a Tilted Kilt., I'm older and Happily married but I'm not dead.
I told Gabe I'm sort of out of this flame war, its the internet after all and doesn't effect my life. I mostly post on the EM hangout it's more my speed.
Bastard if you're there Saturday find me and I'll have my daily cold one with you.
Quoted from dannunz:You can't get into the after party unless you book under the pintastic pinball block for $110 a night.
Bummer
I can't find it on the Website with my Mobil device but can someone post a link
To games registered so far .
Quoted from Irishbastard:Hitting up another bar tonight to distribute some Pintastic ad cards....Well, that's my excuse anyway
I got some peeps interested in coming up to the show . The first thing I mention is the craft beer
Quoted from dannunz:Only the craft beer
well I also did mention the servers and the after 8pm advantages but I'm keeping those conversations off-forum.
Quoted from Playdium:Someone bring a Gottlieb Lucky Hand that I can buy.
Masspinballfan bought one from me , rattle his cage
Quoted from ForceFlow:I talked to him a bit at Allentown. I suspect he may turn up for a short while. Visit his website and drop him an email, he seems to be fairly responsive.
Yes Shay is a real good dude and one of the handful of guys who supply EM Enthusiasts with great products. I get annoyed at people who don't understand how important it is to have Ron Webb, Shay, and Steve Young in this hobby manufacturing NOS parts. I think Forceflow is correct, Shay may pop in, and a seminar is most likely not realistic. I just picked up a pin yesterday, one of the first things I did is to see if Webb or Shay had a glass for it before I even looked at the game. ........ just sayin'
Having a free play game all 3 days up until 10 PM Saturday gets me a badge, better chance at the cash raffle and _____________. There are so many scenarios, I would rather have it spelled out.
Was also wondering which craft beers that Rapscallion would be offering. I'm down for a few, hopefully a nice young woman will be bringing me one in a Pintastic Mug.
Quoted from jrpinball:Yeah, huh? You're going to down some suds? Bend an elbow with me there, jerky!
Yes I am and I'm thinking of tipping the lovely beer girl heavily to keep 'EM coming
Quoted from Scott_S:Yes!!! IPA and Pinball. Can't think of a better combo
A nice young girl bringing it to me so I don't have to leave the game . EVEN BETTER
Quoted from Matesamo:Man I am drooling over the Team One and Bowling Queen! Can't wait to play them!
I have owned most of those games, only regret was selling the Abra. But playing it at Pintastic will be fun. The only single player replay game I have is Kings & Queens and that isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Quoted from ryandimx:Think of how much money they would make in tips if they did
I'm thinking mucho dinero myself. I guess if I want Oktoberfest I'll head to Hunter Mountain this Fall
Quoted from Playdium:Some of what I'm bringing to "Free Play". And yes, they will be for sale.
» YouTube video
Pm sent
Quoted from dannunz:We are limited by the hotel. They can't handle money it's a liability.
what about a tip bucket ? no handling of money hand to hand . just a thought
Can't wait for an ice cold Rapscallion in Pintastic mug! When you combine the two it makes it "Pint Tastic"
Quoted from jrpinball:Wow, first the beer, now the pizza. You can get that sh!t anytime. I'm going for the pinball! And...to see you again, of course!
Yo!
Of course JR the pizza & beer is just icing on the cake. The core EM guys who do all 3 shows will always hang out . Looking forward to seeing youz there Chief .
-Sparky ( maybe I could juggle some fire bombs, sh1t like that)
Quoted from Mrawesome44:Will people be selling games here or is it strictly a free play kind of event? Looking for a specific pinball machine to purchase
Most pinball shows 70% of games in Free play are For Sale . Best bet is to bring a game so you can get in the show early Thursday.
Quoted from dannunz:Correct but he asked about Thursday set up.
? Still not clear to
Me sorry
Quoted from dmarston:The 11:0 0 AM start time for Thursday setup is a conservative time. There might be very few volunteers before that. You could put the game up on its legs and wait for a staffer to come by and designate a placement. We're still planning out who arrives when.
.................David Marston
Got it now that I have all the clues: Professor Plumb in the Conservatory with the pin .
Quoted from dannunz:Just worry about getting the Pintastic Promo Girls set up please!
Wrong verb.
Quoted from dannunz:After many requests last year we have expanded our awesome logo shirt. This year we will have youth grey shirts and woman's cut red shirts.
crap I like the grey one but it's only for rug rats . I'm with Beezleboob 2XL in the
ZY style
I got one pin registered that bit the shed, any issues if I bring another pin ? ( if I don't get the game repaired in time? )
Quoted from halflip87:I hope somebody records Todd's seminar. I'll be stuck at a Michael McDonald / Boz Scaggs concert... I would have loved to meet him...
-Doug
Boz Scags over Pinball? Unless they reunite the Yard Birds there isn't any act I'd pick over Pintastic . Ok Metallica . Maybe
Quoted from dannunz:PINTASTIC CODE OF CONDUCT! Their will be 3 of these, one next to the box office, one in the free play area and one in the vendor hall.
"Public drunkiness is grounds for ejection"
Well that about covers my act .
Quoted from pinballjah:May be looking to play some poker while down in Sturbridge. Any suggestions on casinos nearby that have decent poker rooms? Thanks.
+1 to Foxwoods and Mohegan, they are right down on 395. (CT version of 290) Foxwoods is more established, but Mogehan is easier to get in and out of with less traffic lights and crazy in-town lefts and rights...... I like the food at Foxwoods better. I live in this state but I still use GPS for Foxwoods because going through Norwich is pretty F'ed up.
Quoted from weasley:I am in the market for my first pin - would Pintastic be a good place for a first pin purchase? Or would it be totally overwhelming for a newbie like me?
Have a price guide handy or a buddy who is bringing his knowledge
Negotiate.
Cash is King.
Best deals are early Thursday and end of show on Saturday.
Pintastic will have a lot of pins to chose from . Put multiple plays on perspective pins. Then pick the one you can't walk away from.
Quoted from Schnollms:I'm not going to the show but I'm searching for a 1971 Gottlieb Astro. If anyone is (or knows someone) bringing one in good condition that works, and for a reasonable price I may be interested.
-Michael Schnoll ([email protected]).
Astro is a tough title, I have a really nice one, repainted cabinet because the bottom board was delaminated and I like nice cabinets with shiny doors and coin plates. One pinsider was selling his, he was asking or got big bucks. I contemplated selling mine, then I put a few games on it, changed my mind. Asro is a great player and highly underrated. Other than maybe a Majorettes or a Rock Star my bucket list is really shrunk down. Nice examples of Astro have good playfields and glasses don't come up very often good luck finding one.
Quoted from Schnollms:Yeah it's definitely a very tough game to find; I've been in the search for one since Pinfest 2015 when I didn't grab the one there for the $600 they wanted . That's definitely something I regret. Unfortunately, one of the biggest problems with Astro is that the ones I've came across since then were priced extremely out of range.
600$ Astro yeah that's a tough one to relive over again . I actually kept Astro over Pinup, that was one you were looking for last fall if I recall. I had it set up at York.
Quoted from Schnollms:It's pretty much a $600-800 pin right now in this market. I've seen some in mediocre condition at best that we're priced well over a $1k.
if someone offered me 800
For mine I'd politely ask what game they were adding to the deal. I don't think 600/800 is far off I'm just not parting with mine for that price range anytime soon.
Back on point here. I've tried to register a 1966 Gottlieb Subway for my wife, Shay is delivering this Saturday AM for me. I've Tried twice and I never got a confirmation email either time. Checked spam folder too, I got nuttin'
Quoted from joeraptor2003:I picked the wrong time to go on a diet..
You can buy a whole pig for 72 bucks...
Imagine bringing that into the show.
Just get the sampler then a little bit of this and that, prices are more than reasonable
Quoted from ezeltmann:If only there was something to do inside that day
Yeah like listen to DMD noise
I'm into the flea market myself gotta house full of pins I can play pinball anytime. But the beer sounds pretty good.
Quoted from dannunz:Be respectful of the girls. They are not from backpage.
Yes no back page girls. Now if you're talking Magic Lantern from the 80's then I can list all the dancers and the hottest waitress , Lori Anderson 1987-91 like it was yesterday
Clarificatilon please: I registered Card Trix and it is set up
Free play all 3 days, not for sale and will be there Saturday at 10pm.
I'm entered in the thanks raffle and _______?
Quoted from 1974DeltaQueen:Clarificatilon please: I registered Card Trix and it is set up
Free play all 3 days, not for sale and will be there Saturday at 10pm.
I'm entered in the thanks raffle and ______?
Ok how do
I get my. VIP
pass, its in the game registration language.
Quoted from halflip87:When I got my SuperPass last year, I just got my lanyard and badge when I showed up at the Ticket booth. Just tell them who you are and they should take care of the rest.
-Doug
Thanks Doug. I'll be there all day Saturday, a few hours tomorrow , probably the only guy with a Steelers hat on
Quoted from Schnollms:Have a great show everyone! I won't be there but i hope to see lots of show pictures and videos (and if wedgeheads of course).
JR and his brother have a real nice corner of the Wedgehead variety I've got a descent card Trix up and running . a Capt. Card was being set up near my
Pins when I was leaving
Quoted from Irishbastard:Ahh, that's cool...Yea, was only planning on Friday, as usual...
Let me know how you like the Rapscallion , I'm down for some suds Saturday night
Bob Adams has some real cool chit , if I think of it I'll snap pics tomorrow AM . Old gas pumps, real neat items. . There's a guy in the outdoor flea with large signs. He's got a Canada Dry sign that has to be 6' across
BT Smokehouse review: not my cup of tea or the wife's. Brisket and ribs had a lot if fat and were dry. Without the sauce I chugged a 32 ounce Gatorade to flush things down. Cornbread was good we both liked that. Staff was very friendly and looked like their jobs didnt suck. Place looked clean and it was hopping. Hindsight for 25$ I'd probably order Chinese next time. Try it for yourself I will not be badmouthing them, maybe I'm off.
Pintastic Review: absolutely awesome! Great lineup of pins spanning 80 years. Had a tech fixing chit left and right. His wife was cleaning all the glass in free play, that was IMPRESSIVE. I didn't see any unhappy campers, smiles everywhere! Great games in the tournament, free play, vendor hall. Simply put you can tell Gabe put his heart into this show. The staff were all on point but not pushy, great to see. Huge selection of merchandise, please support this show ! This Pinsider gives it 2 thumbs way up!
If you want Economics . 20$ Admission is cheaper than 35$ early removal. Do what is in your best interest. (as long as you feel you supported the show)
Bottom line is it's your own call
Quoted from mudflap:After 8PM no removal fee.
He can't stay until 8. I'd go with the remove pin in AM and pay the 20$ admission , still supporting the show
Quoted from Matesamo:That was your Card Trix? One of three machines my wife mentioned by name as ones that she really enjoyed playing.
Thanks, i also had the Mayfair next to it and the Subway on the Back wall inbetewen Northstar and Skyline
Quoted from Rondogg:Parents need to make sure these little darlings don't press a four player game, play one ball and walk away. I will say I didn't see crazy monkey flipping, which was nice...
Just as big an issue was kids ramming the ball lift on antique EM's then turning them into multi ball..... Total BS especially with the parent standing next to them. The staff did an awesome job, especially the pinball tech and his very nice wife who cleaned the playfield glass each morning. I will put together a list of suggestions for next year and in no way am I blaming the promoters for the few issues that came up. Mostly I have nothing but positive thoughts on this show. I try to be objective in these matters and not having kids, I try and filter out the activities that don't interest me and don't comment on them negatively. Gabe and I did our best to bring the Beer Girls to Pintastic 2017, the interaction just wasn't there. I put in countless hours screening, texting, emails, CL ads etc.., and well I ended up with a T-shirt. It was a great idea that just didn't work out. At least I got to see the hard part of the show on a very small scale. Putting Pintastic together takes a tremendous amount of work, imagination, and a lot of front money. I cannot thank these guys enough for doing this show.
In a nutshell my suggestions will be: Move the flea indoors, eliminate the weather. Scrap the Auction. Thankyou Buffet, it's really simple to fix the cost and amount of food. I got a system I used for 15 years when I provided breakfast and lunches to crews in the field, worked out well. I will come up with something that Gabe and company can look at. Game play monitors, give out fair warnings to people who aren't respectful of others property.
Quoted from spinal:Why is it frowned upon to load multiple balls using manual ball lifts on old EMs? This can't be a new issue since games have been around forever. Does this mean that when games first came out this was frowned upon too? Serious question as I'm new to very old games.
The machines are designed for one ball per play. You have plastics that are likely over 50 years old with 2" flippers. To
me it's courtesy to play the game correctly or at least respect an antique pin. Part of it is education too, you have a ball in the shooter lane and start it in play. Ball drains, load another ball.
I watched this kid load 5 balls crammed up in a pile by the plunger and she kept ramming the lift nearly breaking the playfield glass.
Quoted from Playdium:We witnessed small children climbing on top of machines as if it were a playground. Parents just standing there. Had to go over and be the "ass" to say your child can't be climbing on top of the machine. Was not impressed with how some people treat other peoples property. (That being a small percentage.)
Yup Assh0le parents raise little versions of themselves . We need more authoritative adults patrolling the games , in respectfull way at first. Then a size 13D up their azz for the repeat offenders
Quoted from mainelycoasters:We could use more volunteers helping in many areas of the show.
Something worth the effort. Unfortunately my conceal and carry permit falls about 5 miles short of the site
Quoted from La_Porta:I'd totally volunteer next time around!
You are the trend setter hopefully more people will join in. I'd probably do
It for a short shift maybe 4 hours . And I do wear a 13 D
Quoted from DaWezl:I volunteered for the first time this year and I'm definitely going to do it again! It was a lot of fun and I got to meet a bunch of great people.
Thanks for volunteering, really helps the show and saves the promoters money. If done right I'd be a free play monitor. I think Walkie Talkies would do some good for the communication between us.
Quoted from TheFamilyArcade:Prolly the same misanthropes that "wrecked the buffet" with their gluttony.
It's a shame really. Allentown has bathroom attendants , keeps the scum somewhat in check. Hey old retired dudes could make a few $ in tips this way. Heck have them offer sanitizer the same way they offer paper towels
To the Joey Chesnut wannabes : there is a reaction to your actions . I just hope the party isn't removed due your lack of compassion and your poor judgement .
Quoted from vec-tor:I must say, the merch at this show far exceeded any show I
have ever been to. Good job to all parties involved.
I agree, lots of options and great colors and styles, then autographed lithographs from the actual desinger Pretty cool stuff. Im not into modern pins, but I certainly can say I was impressed with the effort ! I knew the young guys ate it up and it's good for the hobby.
Im glad the promoters want our input. I want to be part of the solution to the few glitches that came Up. As a show goer its also up to me to improve my experience. I have seen this show improve each year.
I Like the suggestions coming in, 2 day superpass. Great thinking. Yes Gabe the T-shirts were high quality and colorful .
Thanks for the clarification on the best in show and the Thankyou raffle .
I know the tournament area is set up well and run well, it causes a traffic jam from what I observed. what if the Tournament was held in the Auction Room, is that big enough? That would open a wall for the flea to move indoors with access to unload from the double doors in the outer corner . Im not sure of the logistics of the vendors and the congestion it might cause. But Bob Adams set up was exactly the kind of unique pieces many if us flock to Allentown for. More of those types of vendors / flea sellers please! It would really up the ante and interest and eliminate the weather. Just spit-balling here.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Leave the tournament where it is. Great location and it's not in anybody's way, it's in the back of the room!
And more foot traffic for vendors is very important. I bought a funhouse apron that I never would have even seen if the tournament were back in a breakout room like before.
Crowds are a good thing. Means people are coming to the show.
Agreed Crowds are a good thing, but you're going to Lose the flea and then the sellers and buyers that it brings in. The Flea adds more foot traffic, and more rented spaces that's more Pintastic Revenue. The tournament next to the premier vendor games and the line to play was Heavily congested. Those new pins brought in the real foot traffic and i agree vendors need buyers.
How do you propose the flea gets fixed? Ok to shoot my idea down, i understand the logic but where's your solution ? Flea will not work in the auction room as someone suggested. There's no way to haul parts to the area or a way to back up trucks to unload .
Quoted from jrpinball:Sorry, you lost me.
Me too. I didnt attend the seminars, tried it last year, it's not my cup of tea. Glad i
Missed the Joey Chesnut Buffet Friday, I'm sure its fixable though.
Allentown and now York moved the flea mostly indoors. I will be at York and will be happy to report back.
Tents work but rain still sogs out the fun and you have to get wet
to get under the tent and return to the building. Yeah $1500 is expensive !
A few flea guys that i know set up in 2015, neither has returned to Pintastic due to the reduced traffic and amount of other sellers. The auction needs our support its just like the flea , not enough merchandise.
I still say have an indoor flea its good for the show. The flea was on the right side of the lot along the building in 2015 , kiddie rides were out back where the flea was in 2017.
Quoted from Rondogg:Correct me if im weong but I think the problem last year was a lack of foot traffic to the vendor area. Problem solved this year!
You sir are correct. i can't argue. But now we have another puzzle, getting foot traffic to the flea and more flea vendors. And how do we get more interested parties and goods involved in the auction.
Hey one problem was corrected because we dont want vendors bailing on Pintastic.
Quoted from CrazyLevi:Not every show is gonna be everything for all people. When I think pintastic, I don't think flea market - that's an Allentown thing.
Nothing wrong with trying things but I doubt you'll ever be able to get everything to work for everybody. The stuff that IS working you probably shouldn't mess with much.
Partially true, but York is also got a nice flea market. I know not everyone is into the flea, but also not everyone is into tournaments, face painting, and the VIP room. I had a VIP pass, walked in, walked out, not my speed. The show has got to have diversity to keep a diversified crowd. Outdoor fleas are really hit or miss, and mother nature has been more like mother _____ these past few years.
Lots of solid input. Re: games not selling- Its a tough show to sell an EM, and yes by and large Allentown is much easier to sell because it's mostly pinball people walking around. The central location in Allentown attracts people from a wider geographic circle. Pintastic is still a great show , needs tweaking, and they're listening.
The only idea being scrapped is the Pintastic girls. Man it sounded great, but it didn't mesh with the Friday night crowd. The buffet I'm guessing has already been modified for fairness. The auction , needs more stuff, i think they are all ears and want to improve it.
The free play room does need a little adjusting, its not totally dysfunctional however. I dont play much SS so it didn't affect me. I'd like to see the promoters move the few vendors in the free play room and relocate them to open up game space and accommodate the long lines for popular pins. But not put them off in a corner, or discoursge their foot traffic .
The show has a few quirks hopefully our suggestions help the promoters make a few tweaks.!
Quoted from shlockdoc:The outdoor flea allows for some fresh air and a change of pace. The rain was killer both days. We never set up the grill. Most vendors including us had our own tents. Unlike Levi, I could care less about the tournament. though it, like the flea is part of the overall experience. It's nice to be able to hear people, have a beer, talk pinball and chill without the din of 100 pins. There are only so many loops one can do. I think up front of the hall would be great. That was sterling adams idea (flea vendor) and it is great. Having emergency exit only on the doors and garbage cans blocking them does not help drive traffic out back. I guess all have their opinions, mine is, without a flea I'd probably pass on the show.
You are not alone ive heard this type of sentiment again and again. Pinball shows need the flea, and i found myself taking a 2 hour break from the noise and crowds. I
Play EM's and a few SS then i realize that my home collection I enjoy more. I'm playing my games probably 5 days a week.
Make the loop then I start clock watching before I head out to tailgate. The draw for me is boxes of EM parts to pick through, the funky man cave crap and just talking to people and people watching. Im with you on the tournament , zero interest.
Quoted from Lermods:Couldn't agree more. There was something for everyone at the show, seminars, new games, old games, tournaments, kids activities, vendors, etc. we didn't spend a minute at any of the hotel amenities, no pool or lake, just pinball. The row of system 11 games should on its own be enough for any pinhead to attend.
The row of system 11 games is like Krypotonite for many of us and then the VIP room was as well. I like variety too, but if you go top heavy on one aspect of a show, it throws off the balance of your wide target audience. Allentown has the best blend but its a more established show. The flea isnt just for EM's half the project pins are solid state. And then the cool crap you find to decorate your man cave. Plus its an escape from the mayheim indoors.
Im liking the Free hot dogs limit of 2. the joey chesnut rule * to get folks outside, its July. We got November- March to play pinball inside.
Coldond3,
Pintastic girls got very little interaction with their target. The target being males who were interested in buying beer, hats, T-Shirts, or taking pics with them. A few guys did partake, but the interaction Friday night was so disparaging they did not return Saturday night.
This is second party info i got from a relable source. I worked Friday night.
DQ74
Quoted from La_Porta:If that's the case, then better signage would be appreciated to direct people there. I truly had no idea at all! Otherwise, I loved the event. I'll be back next year.
By the way, if you want to bring a machine, what's the process for registering and such?
Bringing a game is easy to register, early May once the site is updated. Currently you can Set it up Thursday before 4pm or 8-10am on Friday or Saturday.
Glad you enjoyed the show. Wait until 2018 when they have a hot dog eating contest to get people outside to the flea market!
Quoted from Matesamo:Hey, it's autocorrected it to Pinfest! That's funny!
Still not right Its Pintastic
Quoted from dannunz:Hot dog eating contest. Well I will try anything once.
Im in but only if you have hot dog girls holding up hot dogs eaten numbers
Quoted from dannunz:Nope this is strictly a family show. I almost got devorced with this years promo girls stunt. No more.
"Almost " only counts in Hand grenades, Horse Shoes. Atomic Weaponry , and drive-ins.
Quoted from docquest:There was a live music band at the first pintastic and it didn't go over well. The majority of pinheads I know are middle aged guys who are not really into dancing.
That Live band in 2015 was as successful as the Pintastic Beer Girls. Great concepts on paper, not actually great. Plus middle aged guys with the wife and kids are on good behavior.
The demographic age group is so wide you'd never agree on which music to
Play. I like listening to the music that was on the radio when the pin was on route. Bonus points if the song matches the pin , example Hurdy Gurdy Man while playing Hurdy Gurdy!
Quoted from dannunz:We are bringing in another sound company to hopefully fix the problem.
Better yet have flat screen monitors with announced activities and raffle results. Put them up in key spots And control the feed through the box office
Quoted from Shredso:I tried this the first year at my glass booth. I didn't really work out all of the details and I had poor signage. I think with some thought it could be a really cool idea. Or it could be a place for people to dump buckets of rusty junk on the table and take up space. Someone would need to run the booth and keep track of sales. Not sure if something like 20% commission would cover the room fee and pay a person to run it.
Yeah hi i got this box of chit. I'll go
Play pinball for 8 hours and if you sell anything just fork over my cash.
I think that's why it basically didn't work.
A Big F-U to Massachusetts and the DOT toll system. Seems like Mass DOT is charging my NY EZ pass for a vehicle that was locked in my garage, when I was at work. They claim to have images....... I got an image too of my truck that never even left my house on 7/7 and an autotime stamped record of me being at work at the time the towers and tolls picked up the plate.
The only explanations are: They got the right plate number PINBALL, but the wrong state, or someone "borrowed" my plate, unbeknownst to me. But this doesn't seem likely since I used specialty square head screws as an theft deterrent. Either way I am pretty freaking sour at the whole situation.
Quoted from drsfmd:Is the image they sent you of your truck? This doesn't make a lot of sense.
The image they have is of another vehicle but they do not share that with the owner of the transponder or the State that owns that EZ pass affiliated with the tag. They may have confused states and plates. Either way my transponder did not get used, it was in the GMC truck, parked in my locked garage not in Massachusettes. My Subaru, which went to Sturbridge that Friday morning, was with me at work at the time of the stamps at 7 PM that evening. The NY DOT was very helpful and is disputing the charges, I was informed this process will take up to 20 days. What a steaming pile of sh1t.
Bottom line is MA DOT screwed up Royally and is charging me fraudulently for a vehicle that was never in the State on 7/7. They hire morons or have an inferior system for plate recognition. To think someone stole my plate, or hacked, or copied it, not out of the question, but highly unlikely. The proximity of the alleged travel though, is highly suspicious and to me, alarming.
Quoted from Rondogg:How much was the charge?
$7.30 three electronic toll reads. It's the principal of the whole thing . It's fraudulent and ethically disconcerting.
Quoted from La_Porta:Sounds like some straight-up BS. I saw your truck while there, I think I parked nearby. I'm not sure how that would happen if they also actually scan the EZPasses. They only use photo ID if the tag is not present. Did you call them directly and say WTF?
I did and they referred me to NY where my account is. No way in hell they photographed my plate Friday night as they fraudulently claim. My freaking truck was home inside a locked garage & I was at work. And my Pinball plate they read wrong , maybe there is another CT plate with 6 digits like PNBALL or PINBAL , mine is the full 7 digit correct spelling PINBALL. My route to Sturbridge is straight up 84, to Route 138/20. Never went on the MA Pike or the Ted Williams Tunnel which they claimed . I drive my Subaru Daily that vehicle was in Sturbridge but only until 11:15 AM Ftiday and the transponder I keep in my truck 99.5% if the time.
Quoted from dmarston:I know that NY has two color schemes active right now for their license plates. Which color scheme is your plate? That would narrow down whether a PA plate or a CT plate could be mistaken for yours. Also, did you get the detail on which toll sensors the vehicle went under? I know that detail is provided on pay-by-plate bills; not sure about whether they include it in transponder bills, but I would expect they do. It tells you (indirectly) where they got on and off the Mass Pike, which is a clue.
I think there were several PINBALL/PINBAL/PNBALL license plates at the show.

I have CT plates Dave, only one color scheme, blue and white. MY EZ pass is thur NY State because Connecticut doesn't recognize EZ Pass (yet, wait Governor Dipwad Malloy and his douchebags are lobbying for putting tolls back in our state) I chose NY over MA because I travel thru NY more often going to Allentown and York, no tolls going to Sturbridge, it's up 84 and back. And MA doesn't even recognize combination plates (commerical/passenger) whereas NY does on the EZ Pass application.
My guess is their camera caught a plate similar to mine, when a MA employee or computer found an EZ pass account, and billed the EZ Pass account rather than the addressee via mail. But they got the plate wrong. I am fighting this and I am not done.
