    Quoted from drsfmd:

After seeing how popular the pre-war games were with the late night crowd last year, I'm planning to bring my 1935 Genco Criss Cross-A-Lite. I'm also hoping to have my 1935 Buckley Hop Scotch ready in time. I'm fairly sure I can finish what needs to be done, perhaps minus the cabinet repaint.

I will have my Genco Big Town there all weekend.

    Quoted from Brypten:

    Barb Wire
    Raven
Oh yes, looking forward to trying these two out. Thanks for bringing them!

    #120 4 years ago

Looks like I may try to bring: Genco Big Town (flipperless), Williams Tuscon, Williams Super Star and maybe a Williams Pennant Fever pitch and bat game. The only thing is the Pennant Fever's consecutive home run tracking set of lights does not work.

Is anyone going to have a flea market spot with some available space? I have four or five boxes of Gottlieb parts (drop target mechs from El Dorado, switch banks, stepper units) I could also bring and drop off. Not really concerned about what it sells for but I would like to see it get some use.

    Quoted from dmarston:

I think the earlier, the better. That means Friday. We have some people interested in being Flea Market vendors, which is where you are most likely to see the one-of-a-kind items. In the indoor Vendor Hall, Mayfair and some other parts vendors have NOS parts which could be subject to sell-outs. Arriving during the 9:00-10:00 AM hour is a good idea.
    .................David Marston

Depends on what you are looking for; Friday will have the best selection if you are looking for something specific but prices will mainly be firm. Late Saturday/Early Sunday is when sellers really start marking down machines so they do not have to break them down and transport them home. I have bought a machine late Saturday night every year for a very nice price.

    Quoted from Butch2099:

Is there an auction this year?

Not this year but it should be back next year in the new location.

    #143 4 years ago
    Quoted from Butch2099:

New location? Is the show moving?

Yes indeed, 2020 will be in Boxborough, MA

    #146 4 years ago

I believe the new location has more space, better lecture rooms, better amenities, closer to Boston...

    Quoted from edcianci:

i am confused as far as when the show ends - in the past we all were there loading our games up as the prizes were giving away on a saturday night - now i see sunday is the last day of the show.

A machine must still be on the floor Saturday night (at 9pm?) to be eligible for entry into the raffle. Once they verify the machine is on the floor the raffle begins and people can start to pack up the machines they brought. Last year there were a couple dozen games there until the end of Sunday, I know a few people (super casual pinball fans) who only went on Sunday and had a good time.

    #245 4 years ago

Ok, I registered my Genco Big Town, Williams Super Star and a Williams Pennant Fever pitch and hit.

    #259 4 years ago

I know ColorDMD will not be at the show but will any dealers have them for sale? I will have three machines in the freeplay area for sale and hope to sell/buy while at the show.

I have a bunch of Gottlieb EM parts if anyone needs anything, can bring to the show. If anyone has a flea market spot you are welcome to sell the stuff; keep any split you want with the rest going to a donation to Project Pinball.

    Quoted from jrpinball:

Is it all from the same parted out game? Looks like the small target bank from "El Dorado", or "Gold Strike".

They are from a parted out El Dorado playfield, a Gottlieb football playfield and an unknown gottlieb head.

What time can we start loading in our machines into freeplay on Thursday?

Edit - I found it! 9am Thursday. Woot!

    #423 4 years ago

I just signed up to volunteer 8 hours on Thursday. Figure I will bring up a machine in the morning, hang around helping out before heading home. I will also be available throughout the weekend as needed but tough to 100% at this time.

Is there a way to check the points that carry over from year to year? I had two machines there last year and registered with the same email; trying to figure out the swag situation.

    #505 4 years ago

I have my Big Town and Cover Girl set up in the free play area, so far I am very impressed with the quality and quantity of the machines! Plus deals to be had at the flea market!

    Quoted from Butch2099:

Also a phone number in case there's a problem or if you want to sell it, a phone number and a price would go a long way if you don't want to take it home.

They are supposed to be putting printed cards on them with that info, for those that registered the games as for sale.

    #553 4 years ago

The action is heating up in the tournament area!

Great show so far, sold three out of the four machines I brought and turned around and supported the show by buying one of the integrated headphone jack in the Stern door kits, two of the cool pinball themed bar stools, a couple mods for Metallica, a bunch of show swag, and some other goodies. I also grabbed the Metallica topper that a fellow Pinsider had so it was a productive weekend. I would have bought a ColorDMD for Metallica if they were at the show.

    Cointaker has some I saw.

I checked and they didn’t bring any for sale

Just part of the swag we picked up. Whew. Great show, is it to soon to start looking forward to next year?

They had 3 of them there yesterday. I don't know if they were spoken for but they were on their shelves.

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have asked the young kid at the booth, lol.

Whoever got the Bad Girls for $800 got a great deal, IMHO. I really enjoy the game.

Not a lot of great “Saturday Night Deals” but there are some decent machines still around. The Target Alpha was $650/bo. Some playfield touch-ups but still very presentable. I was tempted.

    Quoted from dgAmpGuy:

I’m curious to know how you could tell that Target Alpha was for sale? The card didn’t have a price or contact info.
    Thanks,
    Dave

There was a card with a price and a cellphone number on the glass for most of the weekend. When I took the photo it was gone but not replaced with a new one (like if it was sold). Sometimes people take the card off the machine if they feel like it obstructs their enjoyment.

    #617 4 years ago

As of 12:30 there are 62 working pinball machines on the floor.

    #652 4 years ago
    Quoted from DaWezl:

And as for sales, I don’t have exact numbers, but it really felt like sales were hopping!

I brought four games with me; three sold at the show and the one I took home had a couple people interested but couldn't take it from the show for logistical reasons.

    #653 4 years ago
    Quoted from DRDAVE:

All the winners of the 9 Best in Play categories are interviewed as well as the games that came close to winning get honorable mentions.

Man, I thought I had a shot for best Antique this year with Big Town (of course I thought the same last year with Bumper) but didn't even get close to winning. Hmmmm, I am going to have to up my game next year but will have to leave the flipperless at home, it's flippers or bust!

Congrats to all the winners, a great group of machines and I enjoyed playing them all!

    #659 4 years ago
    Quoted from jrpinball:

That "Big Town" was super gorgeous. I think I was the only one all show who completed the rollover sequence. Wanted to hear some bells and whistles, but nothing happened. Thanks for bringing it.

Yeah, there was no chimes or anything in the machine. Maybe the new owner can figure out that disconnected credit reel and get it working (although according to the note taped to it that would disable the freeplay) but a 76 year old machine with no schematics or info makes it tough.

You probably were the only one who completed all the rollovers, I got close but always came up one short! Great to see you again, maybe you can bring the Joker next year, would love to see it again and it would have a shot at winning!

    #673 4 years ago
    Quoted from DRDAVE:

Your Big Town was a very nice example for sure. Looking over the notes of the judges it got high marks all around except for some game play issues it had during the playtesting at the time we played it. We gave it an honorable mention as Gypsy Queen slightly edged it out.

All the machines I had there are now sold so I am on the hunt for an award winner for next years show!

    #695 4 years ago
    Quoted from Toyguy:

It was another great Pintastic, best yet in my book. We had our biggest ever contingent from the Burlington, VT Pinball Co-Op this year. I think I got about 6 hours sleep total from Thursday until Sunday noon. Got a great deal on 2 new wood rail machines - the Genco Big Town and Williams Tucson, both 70+ years old. Big Town soldiered on through the entire show, albeit with some scoring issues towards the end. Tucson went down Saturday night with stuck flippers. Already got parts on the way to fix that one. Both are in really nice shape for their age.

Glad they are going to a great new home, the Big Town will be missed. Already on the hunt for new woodrails to bring next year!

    Quoted from zacaj:

I've pulled games out of barns with decade old rubber still attached that played better than some of the EMs at the show.

Man, those must have been some mighty fine barns. The section of freeplay to the left when you walked though the doors had around 10 EM games all in a row and i enjoyed playing all of them.

    #790 4 years ago
    Quoted from jrpinball:

He'll probably have the game at an upcoming show. I'll ask him what he found.

The issue was brought to my attention while I was on door duty and we went over and tried it a number of times but could not replicate the shock. Very odd.

    1) What did you like best about the show this year and what didn't you like? Loved the game selection, didn’t like the smaller amount of vendors.
    2) Did you purchase a Willy Wonka CE package and did you think you got a good value? If not, why not? Nope, just not interested in the movie.
    3) Did you attend any of the seminars? What did you think of the guests and quality (i.e. was the panel interesting, funny/boring, etc)? I tried to but was having so much fun that I kept missing them.
    4) Did you visit the SNHPC room? Everyday.
    5) Did you compete in the Silverball Rumble and if you did, what did you think of the tournament? I did, could use a larger space or a few more games to lower the wait times.
    6) Did you bring a game to the show? Was it for sale? Did you sell your game? What was your experience like registering before, at and after the show? Brought four games, all for sale. Sold three at the show, sold the fourth two days after. Registering was good, web site needs some more tweaking to make it really work.
    7) What was your experience like in the Free Play Room? Did you encounter games down and did you like the variety of games in free play? I did encounter games that were down but I thought it was a small percentage overall.
8 ) Did you purchase a Limited Edition Pass and was it the first time you purchased an LE pass? Did you think you got good value from this ticket package? I did not, I bought one last year but they sold out too fast this year or I would have.
    9) Do you think you got good value from the EBL (Extra Ball Lounge)? Sure, I got to go in after 8pm and check out the goods.
    10) Are you attending Pintastic 2020 and if so, how far are you traveling? The whole family is going (and volunteering) and it’s about 60 miles.

    Quoted from dannunz:

We will be looking into the texting service but how often are you looking at your phone during pinball time?

I never had a problem with service during the show but I was constantly using the phone. With three machines in the free play room I was monitoring messages from potential buyers and getting texts about issues with the machines, entering scores into Pindigo, posting photos of the show to social media, checking to see if friends had arrived, checking in with the wife and kids, checking the seminar schedule on my phone...

Anyone have a 2019 pintastic poster they are willing to sell? My 10 year old son wants one for his room. We had planned on getting one but we forgot.

    Which one?
