Just part of the swag we picked up. Whew. Great show, is it to soon to start looking forward to next year?

    Quoted from Rock914:

Show specials from Rock Custom Pinball and Pinstadium.
    Interactive Undercab kits $75.00
Pinstadium lights with GI and UV flasher $230
Game on System with Backpanel Mod $40
I am in and out of my booth doing installs and such so text if you need something.

Great Deal, Pinstadium hardly ever go on sale.

I checked and they didn’t bring any for sale

They had 3 of them there yesterday. I don't know if they were spoken for but they were on their shelves.

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have asked the young kid at the booth, lol.

Whoever got the Bad Girls for $800 got a great deal, IMHO. I really enjoy the game.

Damn right! That game is worth every cent of $800. One of my favorites.

Not a lot of great “Saturday Night Deals” but there are some decent machines still around. The Target Alpha was $650/bo. Some playfield touch-ups but still very presentable. I was tempted.

I’m curious to know how you could tell that Target Alpha was for sale? The card didn’t have a price or contact info.

    Thanks,

There was a card with a price and a cellphone number on the glass for most of the weekend. When I took the photo it was gone but not replaced with a new one (like if it was sold). Sometimes people take the card off the machine if they feel like it obstructs their enjoyment.

Thank you Pintastic crew for making my son really happy this morning. The original was stolen but your crew went above and beyond to help replace it.

Green game cards means the game is for sale. Just scan the QR code for all the info.

    Quoted from Linolium:

I'll have frozen there tomorrow. Unfortunately the game isn't really in playable shape at the moment... maybe I'll work on it there and get it flipping for everyone.

This was amazing. I don't even care that it never worked at the show. The fact that you went through putting this together is cool. Pinball themes that skew to females are super rare so this was neat to see. My daughter was a big fan of the movie so I took a few shots to show her.

As of 12:30 there are 62 working pinball machines on the floor.

Eric, that's an awesome ending to an otherwise terrible happening! The smile on your son's face pretty much says it all. Hopefully, this is an isolated event and the jerk that did it will crawl back under his rock. This is truly an example of "bad things can sometimes happen to good people."

Kudos to the Pintastic crew and JJP for making this young man’s day again. I really hope the scumbag thief slips up and exposes himself so karma can come and give him what he deserves.

Recently I attended the Pintastic 2019 pinball show located in Sturbridge MA. Gabe, the organizer of the show does a fantastic job giving the people what they want to have a great time. Things at the show consists of pinball games, clowns, face painters, console gaming, tournaments, late night parties, pinball speakers, and game playing almost all night. The show to me is about hanging out with my friends, meeting and talking with many people in the pinball hobby, and conversing with the vendors and seeing what new products are available.

Just arrived home from the show.
Thanks to Gabe and his entire crew for all their hard work, planning and execution.
Had a great deal of fun, and sold the one game I brought. Not only was the pinball action great, but the entire experience was very satisfying. I'm really going to miss the Sturbridge site, but I'm looking forward to an even better show next year. On to Boxborough!

I was able to attend the show on Friday. As usual, Gabe and all of the other Pintastic staff put on a wonderful show. Everything about the show was great. I was especially excited to meet Dan and Sierra from Project Pinball in person. It was great chatting with Dan. The show will be a little farther away for me next year but I'm hoping to make it back. Again, great job by all involved in putting on this event and to all of the people who who took the time and made the effort to bring their beloved machines to the show for everyone to enjoy.

    Quoted from Multiballmaniac1:

    Nothing surprises me

It was probably one of the self-centered tools who load 4 player games for himself on the machines while others are waiting to play.

    #624 4 years ago

Sorry to see fewer vendors at this year's show. Several stalwarts were mussing this time. I hope next year's show can get more support.

    #625 4 years ago

Home from the show and finally able to relax. I think my 8 games played pretty solid. 7 were for sale and 2 sold. Barbwire got 887 plays!!

HUGE shout-out to the volunteers for this show. Not only did they graciously put up with my dumb ass, they kept a smile on and made a good show great. Organizers did a great job too, it was a very smooth show from where I stood.

I am excited about the venue change as well. While it is farther for me I don't have quite the glowing review for the hotel as I did for the show...

    Pintastic, straight up, was bitchin’.

    FRIDAY

*I bought a project Hot Hand in the Flea Market early Friday, and it ended up finding a great home with Grizlyrig - great to have met you man.

*Hung out in the flea market with ejacques for a while, always good to chit chat with him.

*I made attempts to qualify for the tournament, but due to the long lines, and the easy playing games, was only able to put together two tickets on Friday. Hopefully they will play tougher next year. However, the organizers did great work.

*Stopped by the cointaker booth and picked up a bunch of bulbs - Melissa and co. are great to do business with.

*Said hello to the other Chuck Norris - his fan mod is AMAZING. Can’t wait until they are ready to ship.

*Had tons o’ fun in the FreePlay room, the games of Brian Hawkins and McSquid were unbelievable. I’m glad McSquid is now in the restorations business - what an asset to our community. His roller coaster mod on RCT was jaw dropping.

*Herve, the caricaturist, was a delight, and he’s extremely good at what he does.

*Ran through the Extra Ball Lounge, smaller than last year it seemed. Maybe it was just me.

    SATURDAY

*I started off tired but watching DaveH work on some boards, woke me right up. Allan & Dave are such pros, it’s a privilege to get to watch them work.

*I had a great time on the mic in Round 1 & especially in Round 2 with Backhand Pinball. Marc is reinventing pinball streaming, I’m beyond impressed with his talent, professionalism and dedication to pinball coverage.

*I missed the Hot Hand I bought on Friday. What did I do? I bought the one from Shredso in the freeplay room! We had tried to make a deal on it for a while - glad we came to terms, super excited to have this one. Thanks for a fair deal Ed.

*My Dad and I were both beyond impressed with Metroid. Mark & Erin - my dad actually thought that it was a prototype for a game coming out commercially - he was shocked that two people made that in their home. The shots were amazing, the game was so fluid - I can’t wait to see this completely finished.

*Towards the end of the evening, I got to talk with The King!

All this doesn’t even begin to describe all the things I did at the show. Awesome event. Thanks to all volunteers and organizers. Brilliant work.

I know someone local to me that has one. If you can work out a deal with him, I’ll bring it for you. Shoot me a PM and I’ll give you his number.

    Thankfully you didn't deliver it.

Show was great. Look for The Classic Pinball Podcast tomorrow morning. Dave and I do a whole show on The Best in Play. We also have enough material for a second Pintastic podcast. Look for our announcement on Tuesday. Dave’s voice was a little tired from talking over machines all weekend so we are taking the night off. I’m sure there are many others sitting in the same boat as Dave. So we will put the finishing touches on it tomorrow.

Terrific job Gabe and crew. Next year bigger and even better! Congratulations.

Nice turn out this year, and my first year bringing a game (two, actually). Both (The Shadow, Pool Sharks) held up for the entire weekend which was a plus, and picked up the Dolly Parton that was in the back which will be featured in the next NEPL session at Walrus Arcade in September. Looking forward to next year!

This year's Pintastic felt really like the event had come into its own; maybe I'm biased because I was put more into the show but really it felt very lively, possibly better attended? A really great show, and looking forward to what the future holds in store.

Also, DAMN, I've never walked up to a new release game and thought "How can I finance this and get it past my wife", but Alice Cooper's Nightmare Castle really blew me away. Very impressed with Spooky Pinball's advancement in design and concept, I gotta figure out how to get one of those through my door...

You mean THIS one? I was looking for a cheesy 80s theme. Scooped it up just before Pintastic even opened. Mitchell (previous owner) is a nice guy.

If anyone is in Vermont and wants to play it and all the other games we have on free play ($8 entry), give the Pinball Co-op a look!

Totally agree. So glad we picked up cooper and were able to bring it to the show. It’s my favorite game of all the new releases currently. It’s very clever. Looks great and sounds great and I’m not even an Alice cooper fan.

And we raised $250 with it for the Andrea Ritz Clinics in Paraguay over the weekend!

Thanks to all who make this show happen!

My only bits of feedback...intentional or not, the more popular dmd games seemed like they were spread out more this year- that helped avoid some of the traffic jams from past years that made the center aisle impassible during peak hours-please continue doing this!

There were also a number of games on the floor that were already broken when the doors opened Friday, which remained (broken) on the floor for the entire show. If something is broken and not fixable, get it off the floor, or move it somewhere else.

Lastly, it seemed much more difficult to find anyone from the tech team this year- the QR code reporting didn’t seem to be working, and I stopped at the tech desk a couple of times trying to find someone and there was no one there and no other way to leave a report.

So the last game went out the door at midnight last night, though to be fair, that includes a bunch of tear down for the show and a quick run to drop off 8 pins at the Walrus Arcade.

Even though I didn’t have a chance to see much of the show itself, I had a great time catching up with the Pintastic regulars and meeting some new attendees. My four games made it almost all the way through but NGG and Grand Lizard ended up getting shut off on Sunday bc they were acting up and need some attention. I loved playing in the inaugural SilverBelle Brawl, and I’m very pleased with some behind the scenes improvements that were made to the game registration system. Of course we had a couple of bumps and misses—no we never got the 2019 stickers for the game bringer passes! But y’all rolled with it, and brought and sold a ton of games, and seemed to have a great time!

Special thanks to everyone who checked in to see if I needed anything or dropped off goodies—extra special thanks to the peeps who tipped me off about the Cointaker beer, and extra extra special thanks to @Pinsterwmass for giving me what turned out to be a winning Pintastic bar!

And to answer the question of the hour, yes my kid did hand over all the $$ I won in the thank you drawing on Saturday night for the game bringers. If you were at the drawing, you missed my expletive enhanced shriek of surprise that, after having won a couple of the vendor prizes, I also won the overall grand prize too! This was my first year as a multiple game bringer, and I will definitely do it again!

I just dropped our current podcast. The Classic Pinball Podcast Episode 2 focuses on The Best in Play formerly best in show. Dave and I talk to all the winners about their games and how they restored their award winning projects.

We had so much content I am putting the finishing touches on Pintastic Episode 3 that will talk about the entire show. That should drop sometime on Tuesday.

You can find us on Spotify or if you don’t want another app www.breaker.audio.

    Thanks for listening.

    Quoted from dgAmpGuy:

I’m curious to know how you could tell that Target Alpha was for sale? The card didn’t have a price or contact info.
    Thanks,
    Dave

In this particular case, based on the photo and knowing that the sale was processed as the game left the floor, I’m assuming the game wasn’t originally registered as “For Sale” in our system. Including or updating that information on the game registration system prior to arrival is the best way for us to be able to help you sell your game.

Overall, the card printing was an area where we will definitely improve next year. We had some bigger challenges that were getting in the way of being able to set up the print station, but we’re getting better and better with the software system in general. I was even able to pilot “Expedited Checkout” for people who prescheduled their departure times with me.

And as for sales, I don’t have exact numbers, but it really felt like sales were hopping!

    Quoted from drsfmd:

There were also a number of games on the floor that were already broken when the doors opened Friday, which remained (broken) on the floor for the entire show. If something is broken and not fixable, get it off the floor, or move it somewhere else.
    .

Where would you suggest they put them? The parking lot? The lobby?

Broken games are something every show as to deal with. That's life in the pin lane.

Games that are broken when the show starts, and are unfixable are a waste of space (or an owner trying to sell a broken project and avoid buying a flea market space). I’m not even talking about games that had worked at some point and were having issues- there were a number of games that never worked at any point in the show. Have the owner take it out, or break them down and move it somewhere else (there was a ton of unused space at the back of the vendor hall for example).

Thanks to all who make this show happen!

Lastly, it seemed much more difficult to find anyone from the tech team this year- the QR code reporting didn’t seem to be working, and I stopped at the tech desk a couple of times trying to find someone and there was no one there and no other way to leave a report.

Thanks for your feedback, it is appreciated. Our tech team has already had some discussion regarding the issue of games that were inoperable for large portions of the show, and we'll try to deal with that issue better in the future. Things do break in transit, though, and sometimes a repair at the show just isn't feasible (e.g., blown Game Plan board with no replacement available). In 2018 we did move a few DOA games off the floor because we needed space for functional games; the current game distribution across more rooms eased the space crunch a bit so we weren't as pressed for space.

We did have a few WiFi glitches over the course of the show that likely interfered with the QR code reporting system; hopefully we won't face those hurdles in the new show location. I'll be sure we have some fall-back mechanism for manual error reporting next year. BTW, our techs were wearing orange vests this year so we should have been a bit easier to see on the floor.
