Just booked our room. First time going to Pintastic and very much looking forward to it. Can’t wait.
See you all there!
Gabe hinted at it earlier in the thread (or perhaps in one of the other Pintastic threads - I lost track) and it's now been set in concrete - I'm bringing KAHR.US Circuits to the show! There are some limiting footnotes:
1. I'm flying; not driving so I won't be bringing the whole setup that I haul to Allentown or to York. More like my Texas setup (pictured below).
2. I can't attend all of the show days. I'm taking the earliest flight Friday morning (lands around 9:00 AM in Hartford) and I'm taking the last flight out of Boston Saturday night (10:00 PM).
3. My mini-sized vendor space will only be open for part of the day on both Friday and Saturday - probably something like 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday and Noon to 5:00 PM on Saturday - because Pintastic is just too much fun to spend the whole time manning the table. Generally my products are "stuff in your pocket" small so please take a time-out to buy what you need when you see my booth open.
4. Like in Texas, I will bring the complete lineup of my products but limited to what keeps the suitcase under the 50 LBS limit. Definitely will have a good supply of daughterboards (Pro and Classic), a few Pin2K HV combiners, some Skee display boards, Williams potentiometers and display glass protectors, and, of course, the Pinball Pyramid bracket!
I look forward to seeing everyone at the show and please don't hesitate to ask to start a multi-player game if you see me in the Freeplay area! Thanks, Gabe for your huge role in making it possible for me to come back to Pintastic!

I hope that includes the Williams display brackets...I'd pick up some of those!
Quoted from La_Porta:I hope that includes the Williams display brackets...I'd pick up some of those!
Yup, I should have 10 or so. The Skee display sets are the bulkiest of what I sell so there will not be a lot of those available for sure.

Pintastic bathroom issues resolved!
This year we will have a hotel staff member in both the main men's room and lady's room all day Friday and Saturday keeping things neat and clean.

No tip jar! It's on me. People deserve a clean bathroom.
I'm at the show hotel now, making some plans for the audio-visual aspects of the seminar program. I saw a couple flyers in the lobby for some antique flea markets in the area, which reminded me that you can bring non-pinball-playing spouses to Sturbridge and they will have things to do. In addition to tons of antiquing, there are museums, outdoor activities, and brewpubs. Try candlepin or duckpin bowling if there is none where you live. Lots of classic New England architecture to admire, etc. And the show has family entertainment.

Hope you get some spray too . Last year Somebody needed an exorcism to remove whatever died inside of them .

Don't forget the sandy beach on the lake and the indoor pool. I offered to bring wifey but she had no interest in the 5:00 AM departure from home on Friday or in the after midnight arrival back home the next night. We have a conflict that wouldn't let us come earlier.

Thanks for the compliment, Deltaqueen - did you see my rollover pegs for Bally EMs like my Monte Carlo: https://www.shapeways.com/product/8ZPYYPAWE/rollover-pegs-for-pinball-machines?optionId=65051063
Also, we'll have 100% event overlap if you make your way to the Dayhuff open house in November. I flew out last year and am pretty confident I'm going again this year.

Hello folks! If you were wondering or assumed the panels would be filmed again this year you assumed right. Only this year I am filming all the panels and I officially joined the Pintastic team. It has been a pleasure to work with the team and it's a lot of work. My mission from the second Pintastic was to do this and to improve upon it. This is history for the industry and I truly do thank Steve Bowden for his cell phone streams however the Dialed In reveal would be great to watch again but you can't. It's important to me that people who are into pinball can watch these panels just like reading Pinball Magazine. I mean imagine seeing an old Chicago Pinball Expo with Monster Bash or Dracula being shown off with the operators and distributors being pitched to.
Some examples this year are no camera on the JJP backbox but an actual feed from the source so Butch Peel can accurately convey how to properly fix and maintain your JJP game. A camera over the playfield for Todd Tuckey antics. A camera on a wandering Jack Guarnieri. Best part is the feed goes onto a projector while being recorded so the audience can view it.
We are working on getting an official Pintastic Youtube channel running but in the meantime you can view prior year's videos on my page: https://www.youtube.com/user/hool10/playlists?view_as=subscriber
Some interesting panels would be the Heighway Pinball and Dutch Pinball panels. I still find it crazy that Andrew was hinting at a smoke machine in Alien and the manufacturing equipment being offloaded from trucks. Then there are others like Roger Sharpe and Steve Ritchie.
I cannot wait for this upcoming Pintastic and to see all my ideas to film the panels come to fruition!

FYI, Wells State Park is nearby if you are into camping or if someone wants to chill out at a beach.
Quoted from Playdium:Gabe,
Are there any seminars planned to discuss play field restoration?
Yes John Greatwhich will be doing a seminar on doing your own back glass, playfield, cabinet art, and playfield over lay.
Awesome!!!
Quoted from dannunz:Yes John Greatwhich will be doing a seminar on doing your own back glass, playfield, cabinet art, and playfield over lay.
Tempting! I remember somebody reached out to me a year or two ago about doing a panel, but I couldn't make it. If the offer still stands - maybe next year! Will likely pass on attending this year too due to some scheduling conflicts but this show looks really nice.
Quoted from dannunz:Yes John Greatwhich will be doing a seminar on doing your own back glass, playfield, cabinet art, and playfield over lay.
Very excited for this. I have a FP backglass I am meaning to restore.
Quoted from TheLaw:"Are you guys ready for empty promises?!?"
Sounds like a Deadpool quip. Oh, wait...
Quoted from dannunz:Yes John Greatwhich will be doing a seminar on doing your own back glass, playfield, cabinet art, and playfield over lay.
Do you have a scheduled time for that as of yet? I plan on going Friday for the day.
Quoted from Playdium:Do you have a scheduled time for that as of yet? I plan on going Friday for the day.
Seminar sced will be up soon
John Greatwich talks about the latest options for playfield and backglass art Friday afternoon.
Also on Friday afternoon, we have Bob Thurman talking about things to think about when buying your first machine, ranging from evaluating an unexpected offer of a game to setup to first-time checks and fixes.
Another Friday afternoon presentation will be the presentation by Adam Kiesler that was postponed from last year. Pinball only became legal in Montreal in early 2017, largely due to Adam's efforts. He'll take us through those epic struggles and update us on the current scene in Montreal.
On Saturday, author, humorist, and occasional molecular biologist Adam Ruben drops in to recount some pinball episodes from his 2017 book, Pinball Wizards: Jackpots, Drains, and the Cult of the Silver Ball. This book is a great gift for your friends who don't quite get why you like pinball so much.
Dan Spolar and I will have a panel about Project Pinball and some of the exciting new developments coming from that charitable organization. Project Pinball is the most visible way that pinball fans show a concerted effort to make a positive impact In Real Life. More about this panel will be posted later.
All of the above seminars are in addition to George Gomez, Jack Guarnieri, Joe Balcer, Paul Faris, Butch Peel, Eric Stone, and Todd (TNT) Tuckey! We have invitations out to a couple more famous people, too! And as always, we hold open one slot for late-breaking news. When you get to the show, check the easel outside the Seminar Theater for the final details.

Registration of games always come last minute. So many don’t know what games they will have or which games they will finish in time.

Wow, show is only 3 weeks away! Guess it's time to get serious about figuring out what I can fit into the suitcase. I'm still thinking the hours I posted before are the right hours to be at my vending table - 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday and Noon to 5:00 PM on Saturday.
