Quoted from Butch2099:The 2 years that I've brought games for free play/for sale I didn't get a single offer. Ended up having to bring them home. If I thought it was more of a buying and selling show I would get a vendor Booth like at Allentown and York and bring a bunch. I enjoy the show, I just haven't had success selling there.
Two years ago I brought up a game that I was not allowed to bring home. It was in freeplay with a "silent auction" on it. The rules were: Write your name, your bid, and a contact number... at a specified time the high bidder took the game. The game was a Chicago Coin EM and + or - $25 bucks I got what it was worth. Spent a good amount of time after the sale playing multi-player games in freeplay with the buyer. I'm sure we both were happy. Plus it won one of the small rewards for the freeplay raffle.
Point is, if you bring something that really can't make the round trip there are ways to make transactions happen. Sure, I was little worried at the end of day one when the high bid was something like $15, but people jump on good deal until it ends up being a fair deal. Folks on the fence should bring their games!
I'm wholly on-board with your "I enjoy the show" assessment. That's why I'm coming back this year, but I'm only going to have a vending space open for a few hours each day I'm there (Fri and Sat) - so I can make sure to enjoy the show! Make sure to buy what you need when you see my space open...
