I'm seeing a lot of people saying "turn this up and that down", but I have no idea which volume control they are talking about. The pinsound board has two volume controls (one for cabinet and one for backbox) and then there's the volume control under the playfield!
Trying turning up the volume (POT inside the cabinet). I had this same issue and just had to adjust it up a bit and then it started working normal.....

The actual POT in the cabinet needs to be adjusted up until the audio comes on. It's a different issue than I had if that doesn't fix it.
Any news on Whitestar support? Would love to see more reorchestrations too. The original sounds do ok, but not even close to potential with high quality files. Really love the product, but some of these issues are holding it back.....
