For some reason I seem to prefer the 1984 demo versions from Possessed
Possessed - Evil Warriors Demo 1984

One more for tonight:
Maybe not "death metal"
pentagram - walk in the blue light

Cannibal Corpse- Evisceration Plague

Celtic Frost - Ain Elohim

Thought this was a Death Metal thread...

I guess it depends on where you draw the death/black metal line on a pinball forum... I am more a black metal and doom/stoner kinda guy, the irony being that I am not a "stoner".

This thread has made me more consciously aware of my music tastes as far as what is considered death metal or black metal.
Seems like i'm a bigger fan of old death metal than newer death metal. Good stuff, keep posting.

Ya know....for the longest time I thought Glenn was saying 20 eyes, in my head, theyre all insane, theyre all insane.
Nope. All the same.
Kinda like Data East.

It can be hard to understand what he is saying but I don't think he ever intended for people to overly analyze the lyrics.
Misfits confessional time: My first album was American Psycho bought it not long after it came out. Then I bought Static Age and the rest is history.

Possessed - Seven Churches:

I still prefer the demo version

Quoted from Gryszzz:

POSSESSED. Yes.
Those little bastards were like 16 and 17...
Started a genre. STARTED. A GENRE.
Kids today got no double bass mastery they ain't raised right

The demo version is what got me into Possessed in the first place, then I bought the cd. I think someone had uploaded it on misfits central or something many years ago.

When are you going to start a Punk/Hardcore thread...
Here is some Poison Idea since you posted Youth Of Today

And Obituary to keep on topic.

My neighbors shitty country cover band is on their 4th song....fucking Wagon Wheel. Ughh.
Time for 500 watts of Deicide.
Howdy neighbor!

I wouldn't mind living next door to Hank 3 but thats about as country as I get.

Almost think Those Once Loyal is better than IV Crusade.

How to pick a favorite though. Its Bolt Thrower. My first disc Was Honour Valour Pride. Many years ago snail mail with a money order bought it on a hunch and ended up buying all their albums eventually. I really love having youtube now compared to reading reviews in magazines, discovering similar artists etc. I like Those Once Loyal but if I was ever going to buy a Bolt Thrower vinyl it would be IV Crusade.

Quoted from Gryszzz:

I'm still a CD guy. I've got over 1400 cds and starting over with vinyl has never appealed to me. But it kinda has.
I think cds are more sonically perfect than lps but that's also their downfall. Records will always sound better.
First though Hazoff I need a new tv.

Same here still a cd guy. I would rather wait for the disc to show up in the mail. I fell for the digital download thing briefly in the mid 2000's that is until one day my computer told me I didn't have the rights to play the shit I had bought not that long ago I don't remember what the exact issue was but I learned about DRM. If I buy the cd I can make my own damn digital tracks. The big problem is the source material weather its vinyl or cd, then you get into the "remaster" BS where they just F up the album that you already like.

Quoted from Gryszzz:

Currently on a mission to collect all eight Bolt Thrower studio albums. I have four.
Four more and YAHTZEE.
What's yer favorite? Call me whatever but Those Once Loyal is my top pick.
Still need:
In Battle There is No Law
Realm of Chaos
Mercenary
Honour Valour Pride

I just realized I don't have Realm Of Chaos... Should be an easy problem to solve.
Not full albums but Who Dares Wins And Peel Sessions 88-90 should be on your list also.
My go to BT album tends to be Honour Valour Pride.
If I had to pick a favorite if would be IVth Crusade. I like to crank up Spearhead.

Quoted from Gryszzz:

My absolute #1 pick for favorite death metal album ever is Deicide's DEICIDE.
WTF is yours?

Possessed Seven Churches
