Obviously not dm, but man, the Chemical Wedding is so good.
1st track King in Crimson fuckin rules. Still sounds like Maiden to me, just with different guitar amps/tones.

#906 4 years ago

Really enjoyed this.

Best cover of Leper Messiah

I'm gonna bump this thread all night just to keep that hair metal bullshit thread where it belongs....under my boots.

Saw Deceased twice and live, naturally, they fucking rule. King Fowley reminded me of Kirk Weinstein at the merch booth happy to take pics and just like the best dude ever.

#910 4 years ago

Last time I saw Deceased they closed with Wrathchild and it blew my fuckin mind.

Still anxiously awaiting the new Cianide. Shit rules.

#919 3 years ago

I'm still a CD guy. I've got over 1400 cds and starting over with vinyl has never appealed to me. But it kinda has.
I think cds are more sonically perfect than lps but that's also their downfall. Records will always sound better.
First though Hazoff I need a new tv.

Not diggin this Entombed.
First half is good yes, but last half nah. This album is not everything it's made out to be.

Almost think Those Once Loyal is better than IV Crusade.

Only Entombed album I kept was Left Hand Path, which I bought when it first came out, 30 years ago I think? Some bands I don’t feel the need to keep everything they release and sometimes having just one album out of the discography will suffice.

Anyhow, here's

#925 3 years ago

Bruce #2!

#926 3 years ago

The Ron Z solos are pretty b'dass I must say.

#927 3 years ago

He's no Janick though

How to pick a favorite though. Its Bolt Thrower. My first disc Was Honour Valour Pride. Many years ago snail mail with a money order bought it on a hunch and ended up buying all their albums eventually. I really love having youtube now compared to reading reviews in magazines, discovering similar artists etc. I like Those Once Loyal but if I was ever going to buy a Bolt Thrower vinyl it would be IV Crusade.

Same here still a cd guy. I would rather wait for the disc to show up in the mail. I fell for the digital download thing briefly in the mid 2000's that is until one day my computer told me I didn't have the rights to play the shit I had bought not that long ago I don't remember what the exact issue was but I learned about DRM. If I buy the cd I can make my own damn digital tracks. The big problem is the source material weather its vinyl or cd, then you get into the "remaster" BS where they just F up the album that you already like.

Fuck.
Friend of mine and OG Indy veteran passed on the 28th.
Iron Bob Fouts played in Gates of Slumber, Christ Beheaded, Chrome Waves, Nachmystium, About the Fire, Burn it Down, and many others.
He was a total asshole and beloved for it. We had a lot 9f great times together. Sad day to share with my 20th anniversary.
RIP Iron Bob

About the Fire was my favorite band of his.
They were late 2000's, and so fucking good. Listening to this album right now here's to you Iron...

#935 3 years ago

He hit SO FUCKING HARD.

#936 3 years ago

2nd favorite band of Bob's
Christ Beheaded
So fuckin nasty.

#937 3 years ago

Bolt Thrower: when your riffs are so fuckin killer you rip them off from yourselves lol.
The Killchain is literally the same riff(s) as Embers.
Not a complaint.
Like 20eyes said; at this point, just gotta have em all.
Been listening to a lot of Honour, Valor, Pride lately. They all fuckin rule.

#938 3 years ago

Gimme all the war metal.

#939 3 years ago

Just heard about his passing, fuck...RIP
(Also saw this tribute shirt)

Iron Bob and my high school buddy Bobby on guitar in Amongst the Swarm. They opened for Obituary once. Harder than fuck.

#941 3 years ago

Amongst the Swarm played a reunion show a few years back and they opened for Cattle Decapitation.
I've been to a lot of shows and seen a lotta shit, but the pit for Cattle Decap was one of the CRAZIEST I've ever witnessed. The kids were fightin, throwin punches and trash cans. It was insane. GREAT show.

Boys this is about Death Metal, lets keep it in that realm. No Punk, No Indy. No Grindcore or any of that. I mean whats next, Avenged Sevenfold. I'll hang myself. Five Finger Death Punch, I'll open a vein. Opera Metal. I'll go Skeet shooting and sign up as Skeet.
