Yep, it's time for this discussion and maybe it will be a short one. It just bums me out when I am reading ratings and any pin receives a 1, even a 10 for that matter. I'm sorry if you rated objectivity there shouldn't be these extremes.
I don't frequent Pinside as much lately, but I know the formula has changed over the years, or I think it has.
Can anyone chime in on how it's calculated. If it isn't I would suggest a trimmed mean (I think that's what it's referred to) Basically you take the set of numbers then throw out a portion of the extreme top and bottom numbers. Maybe 5 or 10% on both sides.
I think most Pinsiders do rate games honestly, but these flat 1's (if they are figured in) are complete BS and don't do the Top 100 any favors.
