I for one am baffled by the inconsistencies in moderation. A few months ago it was made clear that Robin was really fired up about people editing quotes, for whatever reason. We were told this was GOING TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. Since then, I've seen a number of clever "FTFY" quote edits that seemed to be fairly innocent but exactly what Robin was supposedly upset about. Reported, no action taken. Okay, guess I won't report those anymore because obviously we're just yelling 'Fire!' in a theater most of the time.

I completely agree it would be nice if Pinside was a more friendly place. Tilt Forums is a Hallmark store at Christmas by comparison, but it's also got tumbleweeds on main street most days.

For me, I know it took a while to get over my training wheels here. I probably tweaked a few nipples along the way and had a few apologies to make, but after clearing my ignore list I found that it soon filled back up with mostly the same people so I don't think my crap detector is too badly calibrated.

Anyway, that's my nickel. Used to get you a credit.

^^^ Here's the thread where we found out not what not to do. Search the forums for "FTFY" since then and you'll see how it has(n't) been handled since then.

I've reported at least three and gone back to check them a week or so later finding no action taken. Want examples?

Three weeks after it was reported, people are jumping on it today? That's disingenuous at best.

This is exactly what I was getting at in my initial post: inconsistent moderation creates some of the chaos here.
